INFOBOX

The Instigator first entered Imperial service some two months after the end of the Clone Wars, acting as a cargo inspection vessel in the Coruscant system. The Empire later transferred the ship to the backwater Kwymar Sector, due to the political misfortune of its commander, to aid in the suppression of Rebel and other criminal elements. There it would remain for the remainder of the Galactic Civil War, falling under the control of the warlord Harssk after Endor, and then the Imperial Remnant with his death at Tsoss Beacon.

Sometime in mid 26 ABY the Instigator was deemed insufficient for the Sector’s defensive needs, given fears of an eventual end to the Remnant’s tense neutrality with the Yuuzhan Vong. A buyer quickly arose in the Dark Council, under the same guise of a Corporate Sector Authority affiliate that had garnered them a shipbuilding contract with Kuat Drive Yards. The ship, and its full complement of support craft, was taken into the Brotherhood fold under a skeleton crew, and placed in a reserved storage yard at Xa Fel until the rest of the new fleet was assembled. The Instigator was allocated to Clan Plagueis in the aftermath of the Vong assault on the Brotherhood’s territories.

It now serves in a planetary defense role over Shintera, helping alleviate the citizens’ security concerns and keeping order on the ravaged world. The warship carries its full complement of starfighters and support craft, both that it may respond to threats forcibly, and to assist in the ongoing planetary reconstruction efforts.
