History

The Imperial Scholae Intelligence, founded in 33 ABY by Dante and Impetus, was created to fill the void of Internal Security, an area that the clan had neglected for years. With widespread changes across the Clan rising from its downsize into a house, innovations and changes to the new house’s structure were so common it seemed a natural time to introduce another new system, the Imperial Scholae Intelligence, or ISI. The ISI, separate from the military, would focus almost exclusively on the internal and external protection of the clan. Dante hired Impetus for the task of building the force shortly after her return from Plagueis, given her intimate knowledge of the Clan’s system, long history in Special Operations and Intelligence, and being a famous name across Cocytus, she was the obvious and ideal choice. Impetus and Dante quickly assessed the required funding and drainage on the house’s resources and come together with a plan that would minimize the security problems that threatened the house both internally and externally.

Structure and Organisation

The Imperial Scholae Intelligence is split into two separate Directorates, the Internal Directorate, and the External Affairs Directorate. The functions of the two Directorates are self explanatory, they split the wide area of security into two distinct parts, the regular duties within the system, and more specialist agents for when the ISI must venture beyond the boundaries of its own system in order to protect it and its inhabitants.

Internal Directorate

Security Defence Forces

The Security Defence Forces are essentially common police officers, and as such they make up the bulk of the ISI. Trained in all manner of tasks, they can be relied upon for day to day crime prevention, crowd control, and guards. They also serve as lookouts on their patrols, trained to recognize the tell tale signs of a Jedi in the area, and report any mysterious occurrences up the chain of command.

Forensics

Those assigned to Forensics are the detectives of the ISI. There are always the situations in which things happen beyond the control of the Security Defence Forces, in which case action must be taken to deduce what happened and who was responsible. The Forensic Scientists are generally only deployed to high important scenarios.

Internal Intelligence

Another division that only generally sees action in the more high profile cases, the Internal Intelligence provide tactical assistance to the Defence Forces and Counter Terrorism. Their specialty is finding people, things, whatever needs to be found, whether it be stolen property of high value or a fugitive in hiding.

Counter Terrorism

One of the most crucial tasks of the Internal Directorate, counter-terrorism is just what the name implies. Trained extensively to respond with rapid precision, usually with tips from the Security Defence Forces, this division’s function is to prevent wide scale attacks, with lethal force if required. Due to the high criteria for eligibility, this is one of the smallest divisions in the ISI.

External Affairs Directorate

Insurgency Operations

Sometimes the best way to protect one thing is to make another thing explode. The Insurgency operatives understand this, and are the division called upon if an enemy structure needs to be destroyed, being trained in the use of explosive charges and missile launchers.

Espionage and Reconnaissance

A simple task in writing, this division’s purpose is simply to provide information on what Scholae Palatinae’s rivals are doing. Exploring unknown territory, gauging enemy strength, and compiling information and schematics on key enemy locations, this division is essential support for the entire External Affairs Directorate.

Appropriation

This is the division responsible for theft from items in enemy hands. Their function can have many different triggers, from discovering useful objects such as expensive technology, to counter-thievery in the case that anything is stolen from CSP. These agents have also been responsible for plagiarism, copying enemy designs and plans before they can implement them.

Lethal Ops

This division is the ISI’s assassin network. Sometimes people just need to be killed. The entry criteria for this division is extremely high, and its members diverse, from highly competent marksmen in camouflage to the seductresses with a hidden blade. The main target for this division are high profile enemy names, from suppliers to commanders.

Cyber Security

Not falling into any particular category, the ISI’s Cyber Security tirelessly monitors data communication. Their numbers large and their methods efficient, these computer scientists monitor everything from short distance to long distance communication, picking up on organised crime before it happens, and intercepting enemy signals for decoding.
