Doctor Fenson Ryburn is the executive strategist for the Crimson Tide. His knowledge and expertise cover for the deficiencies of the leader of the Crimson Tide. Many of the successes of the organization are truly, if not actually, to the credit of Dr. Ryburn. His key position with the Crimson Tide make him a “being of interest” to Clan Plagueis, which has placed a thirty-five thousand credit (35,000 cr) bounty on his head.

History

Education

Fenson Ryburn was born to a noble family on Dantooine 15 BBY. Both his parents were medical doctors and he followed in their footsteps, at least as far as education and training were concerned, from an early age. His intellectual prowess and deductive powers became obvious as he pursued his studies, plying accomplishment upon accomplishment as he made his way to being recognized not only as a licensed physician but as a leader in his field.

Despite his gravitas in the field of medicine, Ryburn had always craved adventure. The more he achieved in the field of medicine, the more he wanted adventure. Eventually, his wanderlust overcame him and he walked away from what seemed to be a career at the top of his profession. He joined the crew of the cargo ship Kath’In where he served as medical officer, though, to his continued disappointment, he never saw anything that could be considered “adventure.” This would soon change.

Joining the Tide

One fateful day, on a routine run to the Galactic Core, the engines of the ship malfunctioned. The captain sent a call of general distress which was quickly answered by space pirates. The pirates sacked the ship and executed all who resisted. Dr. Ryburn saw his chance at “adventure” and, for that matter, survival. He joined the pirates, assuming the job of medic for their ambitious pirate band, one of many bands associated with the Crimson Tide.

Later, when the chief medical officer for the Crimson Tide mysteriously died of causes that remain unidentified, Dr. Ryburn took the position as chief medical officer for the Crimson Tide. There, he served under Alonzo Bodelle who came to value the doctor as both an advisor and confidante. Bodelle made Dr. Ryburn one of his chief assistants.

The absence of Bodelle upon capture by the Dark Jedi did not deter Ryburn from advancement. His knowledgeable ways and conniving personality served him well in Bodelle’s absence. Ryburn moved into the power void, not in actual position, (for that position was filled by the young Raxor Kidd) left by Bodelle. There he has learned all of the Crimson Tide’s secrets and made himself an invaluable asset.

When Bodelle returned after escaping the clutches of the Dark Jedi, he was furious at his replacement by Roxor Kidd. Ryburn fanned Bodelle’s anger while, in truth, taking a position against him in the ear of Calliban Crimson. Officially, Dr. Ryburn serves the Crimson Tide as a permanent appointment to the Crimson Tide Advisory Council. In truth, he is chief strategist and advisor for the Crimson Tide. Given the mettle of Crimson Calliban, it may be fairly said that it is Dr. Fenson Ryburn who, on any given day, decides the direction the Crimson Tide from the shadows.

Other

  • Dr. Ryburn is brilliant but non-descript in appearance. In any conflict he will likely pose as a refugee or bystander and fade into the shadows. Special care should be taken to confirm his presence and prevent his escape in the event of any conflict with elements of the Crimson Tide.
  • While Fenson will assist the Tide in their attack on Clan Plagueis, he personally holds no grudges against them, and has actually never even come in contact with the Dark Jedi.
