Terentatek are fabled beasts that have wiped out entire legions of Jedi through the ages as they tried to hunt down and exterminate them. Creatures of nightmares crafted from the very essence of the Dark Side, Terentateks are feared throughout the force-using community for their natural resistance to its power. Feared, that is, by all but one group: Arcona.

A wild Terentatek

House Odan-Urr ran an operation on nearby Korriban, capturing several Tarentatek and relocating them to New Tython for study. Experiments were conducted to determine how the creatures' hides made them immune to the Force. Simply using the hide as battle armor was considered, but eventually rejected as it interfered with the wearer's ability to effect their surroundings with the Force. Experiments in reproducing the immunity while still allowing the wearer to utilize the Force were unsuccessful. Several members of the team wanted to attempt to revert them back to standard Rancors and release them into the wild, but these voices where overruled as the Odan-Urr leadership knew it would require the use of the Dark Side and refused to allow their followers to take that risk. The closest this project came to success was the creation of a garment that acted like a ysalamiri on the user and on any powers directed towards them. Given the restrictive nature of such a garment, it never saw actual production. With the growing unease of House Odan-Urr over the increasingly obvious threat the Brotherhood represented, the research project was shelved and efforts were concentrating on keeping the Terentateks secure until they could be properly disposed of by the Jedi.

While trying to infiltrate an Odan-Urr facility, one brave Arconan discovered the facility wherein the beasts were being held. A mere acolyte, Mazer brought word of his discovery to his summit. Wuntila recognized the necessity of swift action and dispatched Invictus to kill the creatures and prevent their use against the Brotherhood. Bearing the Mark of the Wanderer, it was thought that Invictus might manage to exert some level of control over the beasts despite their Force-immunity.

Invictus assembled a strike team and, in the chaos that pervaded New Tython, broke into the research facility in Menat Ombo. During the operation, all researchers were wiped out and a neurotoxin introduced into the containment cells. Despite its effectiveness, killing the Terentateks within minutes, a single specimen seemed immune. Invictus suspected - and Arconan scientists would later confirm - that this single Terentatek had been subjected to both genetic and cellular modification, rendering standard poisons and biochemical weapons impotent. Recognizing the potential this Terentatek represented, Invictus managed to Pluck the creature’s thread and bend it temporarily to his will. The strike team returned to Arcona’s FOB outside Menat Ombo and presented their charge to Wuntila, who arranged transportation for the beast to the Arcona Citadel.

Drogon, as the Terentatek is known, is kept in the Citadel’s bestiary while teams of bounty hunters, employed by the Serpentine Throne, seek to capture a male mate for the creature. While the purported reasons for which the Summit desires to breed the creature vary greatly, doubtless the outcome of such a union will feed the chaos in Dajorra and the Brotherhood in general.
