History
Before the Brotherhood
Kael is the son of Soren and Alina Fayne. The Fayne family consists mostly of successful small businessmen in the Perave System. Taking a different route, Soren was a noble, well respected doctor of history and philosophy on his home planet. Kael's mother, though wanting to be more of a housewife, worked on and off as an administrator for her father's diamond mining and transportation fleet. Even though he considers his cousins to be brothers and sisters, Kael is an only child.
As he grew up, Kael proved himself to truly be his father's son in the classroom by displaying a promising intellect and sharp wit. Though, after several failed relationships, Kael illustrated self-destructive tendencies that needed to be curbed by the loving influence of his father.
Due to its relative unimportance in comparison to the diamond rich plant of Arkania, Kael's home planet was under the control of the Empire late into the Republic's ascendancy. However, once 'liberated', the planet's former leaders were hastily executed and replaced by a blood thirsty minority. In the midst of the constant political strife throughout the galaxy, Kael's father began to advocate an increasingly hard line stance towards complete independence from the rest of the galaxy. Even though he only lobbied for neutrality, Soren was placed in prison for life without trial by the Republic's puppet regime. Believing his views were being justified in his imprisonment, Soren told his son to forego seeking his freedom and to flee the planet for a better life. Without the influence of his father, Kael went from a being a respectable security officer, to an effective mercenary, to a cold gunman, to worse. Succumbing to the destructive tendencies of his youth, he found himself addicted to painkillers and without a future before being discovered by the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. The details of this meeting are as of yet unknown.
Brotherhood History
Upon joining the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, Kael was assigned to the House Dorimad Sol of the Clan Scholae Palatinae. Although in an unfamiliar environment, Kael quickly began his ascendancy through the Journeyman ranks by virtue of his studies at the Shadow Academy. He currently holds the rank of Acolyte.
