Kaelin is a carefree individual. He is loyal to a fault, but only to those he deems worthy. Most see him as a clown, and say he has his head stuck in the clouds. All who know him, though, see him as something quite different.

Character History

His family, believed to be refugees from Iridonia, lived in Nar Shadaa. Kaelin Ring was forced to work with one of the less powerful gangs. His first jobs for them were mainly petty theft. During one of these jobs, around Kaelin’s 16th birthday, he was cornered by rival gang members. In the brawl that ensued, Kaelin discovered his aptitude for battle. Soon, the gang was using him for assassinations, collections, and minor disputes. As his ability increased, he became their chief sweeper. During that time Kaelin doted on his family, making them one of the richest families in the gang.

Soon enough, though, rival gangs learned of his weakness. Striving to protect his family, Kaelin took on several smaller gangs. But to no avail, soon one of the larger syndicates wiped out his family. In his grief, Kaelin killed many people. His own gang, fearing his abilities, tried to have him killed. They were all slaughtered. Finally, Kaelin tracked down the one he thought responsible for his family’s death. Using the money he saved over the years, Kaelin followed the man across the galaxy. He finally caught up with the man on the planet Korriban. Little did he know, the man was a Krath Priest by the name of Octavion. Without thinking, the Zabrak attacked the force user and was nearly killed. Octavion kept him alive, and enrolled him in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. There, under the Krath’s guidance, Kaelin excelled. As an apprentice to Octavion, then the Aedile of House Oriens Obscurum, the Zabrak rose to the rank of Guardian in very little time. After that, Octavian disappeared and Kaelin struggled on alone. He was given his own Battle Team and became part of the most prestigious faction of Arcona, the Legion of Boral. Kaelin then disappeared for almost a year after that. Most assumed he had gone to obtain vengeance for his family. He never spoke of it, though. He returned to take part in the Great Jedi War and helped his Clan marginally. After the Great Jedi war, he transferred to Clan Naga Sadow and became Mononoke "Macron" Keibatsu-Goura’s apprentice. From there he became the Order of the Black Guard for his Quaestor and began his Dark Jedi Knight trials.

Rogue

Although Kaelin denies ever doing anything more than meditating during his extended Rogue period, it was a very momentus occasion for him. He'd returned to his old haunts on Nar Shadaa. Most people didn't even recognize him, which was good, because he wasn't there to draw eyes. A few did, and they were silenced, mostly by threatening them and their families. Through these people he found out who was responsible for his family's death. To his surprise it had been his own Syndicate that had framed their major competitors. Through him they had gained a strangle hold on most of the business in the poorer parts of the city. Soon, they started to stretch their influence to the upper castes of the city. It was these people that Kaelin had come to bring down.

He was never one for subtlety, and he charged right in. In the massacre that ensued, Kaelin received a massive blow to the head. When he came to, he was surrounded by dozens of dead bodies. It was then that he first heard the voice. It never named itself, but he knew it was a person. At first he thought it was a Jedi's influence, but as he began to listen to it, it didn't sound anything like the peace-loving Jedi. Although it was sane, whenever he got into a fight, it called for blood to be spilled. It was from then on that his 'other self' advised him on nearly every aspect of his life.
