This article tells of the Real Life Persona of Daniel Stephens, PIN# 146.
Birth to Teenage years
I was born in the late summer/early fall of 1984, my parents graced me with the name of Daniel Levi Stephens. I had the normal baby life till I was 4 years old when, sadly, my parents divorced. I lived with my mother, and her 2nd husband for the majority of my younger years in the city of Tuscaloosa Alabama, where my stepfather worked on drilling rigs. This started my facination with machinery and well, working on things. Due to the job we moved constantly within the area. When I was 8 years old my father was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which to this day drives me to see that while I may have a bad day, others can have much worse. When I turned 13 years old I decided that I would like a chance to live with my father for awhile.
Teenage years to adulthood
It was during this time I fell in love with the universe for which I am in the DB. For years during Christmas at my grandfathers he would play The Empire Strikes Back on VHS. For some reason in my 13th year this movie held me in thrall. After returning home I could not keep my hunger for learning about this universe at bay. I saw the Darksaber book at the local drug store and bought it with the money I had. I read this book 12 times, before I bought another. Even 12 years later I still have this book, although it is well worn, and been read more times than I can count now. It was also during this time I felt the drive to get closer to my spiritual side, partially driven by the SW movies. During this time my mother was separated, pending divorce from my stepfather. Since that time I have made it a point to learn about all facets of Christianity, and to an extent other beliefs in the world.
During my later teenage years I attended a private school in my area. It was during this time I discovered the Emperor's Hammer, and in extension the DJB. My mother and her new husband had bought a computer and I got the TIE Fighter game for my 16th birthday. After beating the game I was looking online for new levels, when I stumbled upon the club. I immediatly joined in August 2000, and within a few weeks joined the DB. I graduated High School in 2002. I was not big in sports, only playing a few games of football. I was more of a hangout, do my own thing with friends, kind of person. I was never one to get into major trouble, although my friends were admittedly potheads, I just never saw the point in it myself. After graduation I worked a series of jobs, never being able to settle down at a single place more than 3 or 4 months. I did this for almost 3 years.
Adulthood
Shortly before my 19th birthday I got the crazy idea of enlisting in the military. I talked to an Army Recruiter first, I wanted to be a pilot and was told that due to my ASVAB scores I could easily apply to be a Helicoptor pilot after a few years of being enlisted. After going to the Processing Station I found that my weight was too much for my height by about 10 pounds. The recruiter, while stating he would help get my weight down, did not offer any help from there. I then talked my best friend into going to the Air Force recruiter, where he was quickly enlisted, but I was told that I was still overweight and he did not have the time to help, but suggested I try the Navy Recruiter. After speaking with them, they helped me lose the weight and I enlisted in October 2003 with a planned Active-duty date of September 2004.
During my time waiting to enter boot camp I met my future wife through my mother. Honestly at the time I just wanted someone to have fun with till I left. In September of 2004 I left for Boot Camp in North Chicago, Illinois. During this time she remained faithful to me. In February 2005 I was discharged from service due to a cyst in my knee, I returned home. I once again went to working several dead end jobs. In September 2005 I applied to the Sheriffs Office in my area after delivering a pizza there. I was quickly hired. After several near-miss firings for being an idiot and laying out of work my Administrator gave me an ultimatum. Grow up or get out, this gave me the kick in the ass to get a move on with my life. In December of 2005 I asked my girlfriend to be my wife, which she accepted. We were married in October of 2007.
Anyone can turn their life around, while I know mine was not too bad I have went from being possibly one of the worse employees where I work, to now one of the better ones. Enough that in Sept. 2009 I was promoted to Shift Supervisor. I do wonder what the significance of the month of September is for me. Seems alot of the major events of my life revolves around the month of birth...
Hobbies and such
First Ive got to say, I love the internet. While you can find a great bit of evil from this, you can find a wealth of good here. I love reading, and just gaining knowledge about anything and everything. Im a complete and total Star Wars nerd. While I wasnt a total fan of the Prequels, I did enjoy them. Particularly the Anakin/Obi-Wan fight. Im a World of Warcraft junkie with my wife. I play an epic lvl 80 Paladin, in one of the top guilds on my server. If you want send me a tell. Im Seraphol on the Sentinels server. Aside from the computer I watch little TV. I love History, or any of the 'learning' channels. I love Sons of Anarchy, have just gotten into watching MMA fighting, and love me some Adult Swim.
