Verraxio Industries is a growing corporation that was founded by Gordon Verraxio in roughly 28 ABY, after the Yuuzhan Vong incursion into Known Space. The company as several divisions, stemming from general research to weapons development, and has several exclusive contracts with the Imperial Remnant.
The company is led by the Chief Executive Officer and President Gordon Verraxio, Vice-President Sara Nue, Director Anubis Annedu, Director Sammie Higgins, Director Tabitha Maude, Director Vincent Quale, as well as Director Kody Rutherford, and is based on several planets, the headquarters and home office being located on Denon.
Company Information
Starting Out
Verraxio Industries was the brainchild of Gordon Verraxio, a Human male born on the metropolis planet of Denon. He envisioned a company that would actually do something, such as help governments and even create new weapons for use by major factions. A wealthy noble, he also took out several different loans and came up with enough money to start Verraxio Incorporated, a small time business that focused on administration work. The small-time company thrived, eventually starting to hire more and more workers.
Soon, advertisements about jobs at Verraxio Incorporated started spreading across the planet, and the company had upwards to a thousand workers. Still, more people arrived handing in applications. Although Verraxio Incorporated was only a small time company, it continued to hire and gain prestige. Ads for the company began being placed all over the place like the HoloNet, and colonized worlds such as Thyferra and Muunilinst.
Eventually, the demand for jobs at the small time company got too much, and Verraxio was forced to close. Instead, he started Verraxio Industries, a multi-field corporation that currently had two different divisions to work in. It countinued to hire, now up to roughly four thousand staff.
The Big Time
As Verraxio Industries continued to expand and grow in size, as well as personnel, it became more well known. News of it had spread through several major systems, and reached the ears of remnants of the Old Empire. The Imperial Remnant sought to contract Verraxio for military development purposes, and the deal was made. Verraxio Industries would be given several hundred more personnel, enough to open up a new and experimental field, bioengineering, and the Imperial Remnant would gain a new contractor.
The fields began to grow, and big-league bounty hunter Sauron Mogurak invested in the company, also purchasing roughly ten percent of it's shares. The third largest shareholder, he kept himself low-key in the company, preferring just to make small time decisions.
The company had upwards to just over nine thousand employees in 31 ABY. During this time, Anubis Annedu had taken control of Mogurak's shares, and became a key part of the company. A former member of the Imperial Remnant, he offered to take up the Weapons Development and Military Contracting branch of the company. Verraxio was cautious at first, not sure if he should trust the Lorrdian, but eventually gave him the position. Afterwards, with a steady flow of credits, Anubis began buying people out - coming to own nearly twenty percent of the company and become the second biggest shareholder, beside Verraxio. He never said anything, preferring to go about his duties. He was aware that everyone knew, but he didn't care.
The company is currently operating on four different worlds. The General Research division is stationed with the headquarters of the company, located on Denon. Meanwhile, Mining and Health Care operations have been undertaken on Thyferra, because of the planet's richness in resources and the healing agent Bacta. The military arm and weapons development department, has been undertaken on the planet of Lehon. Hidden away in the Unknown Regions, Lehon is rarely visited given it's dark past - which makes it the perfect testing site for new weapory and military operations. The ruins of the Temple of the Ancients was torn down, and replaced with a military compound. This compound has a private office, where Anubis Annedu conducts his work. Finally, last but most certainly not least, the bioengineering arm of Verraxio Industries, is located on the rich world of Muunilinst.
Divisions
Department of Bioengineering Sciences
Having around two thousand and five hundred of all Verraxio Industries employees, the Department of Bioengineering Sciences is based mainly on Muunilinst, and concudcts some of it's business with the Muunilinst Government, however keeping many things private. It's major duties are known to include:
- Creation of nanobots and other biotechnologies
- Study of Yuuzhan Vong technology
- Study of cybernetics and biological agents
Department of Mining
Employing around a thousand and five hundred Verraxio Industries employees, the Department of Mining is based mainly on the planet of Thyferra, alongside the Department of Health Care and Medical Aid. It has a contract with the Thyferran government, stating that if it is to mine the planet, a quarter of the funds acquired are transferred over to the Thyferran government. It's led by It's major duties are known to include:
- Mining of metals and other resources
- Refining of metals and other reasources
- Shipping of metals and other reasources after they've been refined
- Producing clients
- Researching metals
Department of Health Care and Medical Aid
Employing roughly five hundred Verraxio Industries employees, the Department of Health Care and Medical Aid is based mainly on the planet Thyferra, alongside the Department of Mining. It's contracted, currently, by the Thyferran government, who pays them for their medical services. It's major duties are known to include:
- Providing basic health care and medical aid
- Preforming operations
- Fitting prosthetics
Department of Weapons Development and Military Contracts
The Department of Weapons Development and Military Contracts currently employs around a third of all Verraxio Industries employees, as well as a hundred Imperial Stormtroopers from the Imperial Remnant. Based on the mysterious planet of Lehon, it has an exclusive contract with the Imperial Remnant. Because Lehon is sensibly avoided, it makes for the perfect place to have a military installation. It's major duties are known to include:
- Testing new weaponry
- Designing and building new weaponry
- Developing training programs
- Defense
Department of General Research
The Department of General Research employs the rest of the Verraxio Industries employees, that aren't working in other departments of the corporation. Based inside the corporation's home operations on Denon, the department covers research and general engineering. It's duties are known to include:
- Developing blueprints for facilities, buildings, and factories
- Developing general technology (datapads, computers, etc.)
