The Nephilim were Force-sensitives that lack the raw power to be accepted into the ranks of the Brotherhood. Their numbers were comprised of Initiates who managed to complete the Test of Lore, but could not handle the rigors of the Shadow Academy. Instead of culling these inferior creatures, the Grand Master chose the strongest, the most determined, and had them trained separately from his Dark Jedi. Large groups of these weak Force users were trained together in units, similar to military training. Rather than focusing on the more arcane aspects of the Force, they were taught physical combat with a limited amount of physical enhancement powers.

As a unit they are capable of taking on Jedi opponents and, when led by an experienced Dark Jedi with mind meld, can become a fearsome fighting Force.

Organization

Training

Members of the Nephilim are specially selected members of the Army of the Iron Throne. The instructors at the training facilities have standing orders to watch out for recruits with real potential, and those that are selected are then sequestered from their units, and given further disicplinary training and eventually force imprinted by the Grand Master. Following that, the newly empowered soldiers are transferred to Atrophos to train with the Grand Master's Royal Guard.

Formed in 30 ABY, after the reclamation of Antei. Grand Master decided he needed a cadre of soldiers equipped to deal with Force-sensitive adversaries that were not loyal to anyone but himself (so outside the Clan/House system).
