This program is outlined to help increase the retention of new members, as well as develop and train these members to become
productive members of the Brotherhood.
Note: This page is under heavy revision by the Aedile and Rollmaster of House Marka Ragnos, come back at a later date.
Ravana Squadron
Ravana Squadron is the "proving grounds" of House Marka Ragnos. Upon arrival from the Shadow Academy, all new members are
assigned to Ravana Squadron. Following the guideance laid out in the Promotion Trials, the mission of this team is to get members
promoted to the rank of Acolyte.
Ravana Squadron is led by a Battleteam Leader, who may (if neccassary or desired), appoint a Flight Leader / Assistant to run the
team.
Avatars of Death
The Avatars are the 'middle ground' for new members. Upon being promoted to Acolyte, they're transfered into the Avatars of Death.
Unlike Ravana Squadron, which has a strict mission of getting members through their first two ranks, the Avatars are tasked with
the much more complicated mission of breaking members into the Brotherhood. The Avatars of Death will act more like a
'traditional' battleteam, due to the nature of the ranks involved, members could expect to stay in the Avatars for well over two
months. To this end, the Battleteam Leader is tasked with ensuring members are adapting well, partaking in Competitions, being
introducted to IRC, ect. A successful term in the Avatars will give House Marka Ragnos a member who is aware of the Brotherhood,
and able to partake in the many opportunities the Brotherhood offers.
Avatars of Death is led by a Battleteam Leader, who may (if neccassary or desired), appoint a Flight Leader / Assistant to run the
team.
Life After the Avatars
Once members are promoted to Jedi Hunter, they are "cut loose" from the formal training program. Members should by this point have
been paired with an appropriate Master, who along with the Quaestor and Aedile, will guide this member into the final Journeyman Rank.
A Note on the Night Hawks
There are, from time to time, exceptional members who come through the doors of the Ragnos Cathedral. The Commander of the Night
Hawks, may, with permission from the Rollmaster and Quaestor, recruit members from the Avatars of Death, who otherwise would be
unable to leave the team. This does not however, apply to Ravana Squadron.
Rollmaster
The Rollmaster of House Marka Ragnos will serve as a "Wing Commander" over both Ravana Squadron and the Avatars of Death. While
not a direct "command" relationship, the Rollmaster does have advisory powers over both Battleteams. The battleteam leaders are
expected to work with the Rollmaster to develop the members of both teams. The Rollmaster is also responsible to see that
everything is being done in accordance with the training program.
Training Expectations Outline
Apprentices and Acolytes alike, should be emailed by their respective Battleteam Leader, as soon as they are assigned to the Battleteam.
Apprentices should be emailed every day, until they complete their promotion requirements.
Novices should be emailed every other day, until they complete their promotion requirements.
Acolytes should be emailed every three days, until they complete their promotion requirements.
Protectors should be emailed every five days, until they complete their promotion requirements.
Guardians should be emailed every five days, until they complete their promotion requirements.
The Quaestor should email every new member, as soon as they join, and assign them to Ravana Squadron.
The Quaestor should email every member when they are promoted to Acolyte, and assign them to Avatars of Death.
The Quaestor should email every member when they are promoted to Jedi Hunter, and remove them from the Avatars of Death.
Battleteam Leaders should keep a spreadsheet or chart, outlining what tasks each member of their team has completed. This should be transfered from Ravana to Avatars along with the member, so that each BTL knows exactly what has and hasn't been done, and what is still available. These lists should be included in the weekly reports, so that all of the leadership can archive them as well.
