Firak is a reptilian creation that is a unique and unidentified species. He roams within the Orian System and causes havoc on small scale. To this date his exact whereabouts are unknown, but it seems that Firak has grown more cautious in his attacks against Force users, not wanting to attract anymore attention than necessary.
Early History
In 11 ABY following the fall of the reborn Emperor and the creation of the Jedi Praxeum, several criminal organizations were alarmed by the Jedi's establishment as a threat to their existence. Once such was the Lenoris Corporation, a private biological organization based on Varenon, a remote unexplored desert world. Lenoris specialized in illegal biotic and genetic experimentation outside the jurisdiction of the Imperial Remnant or the New Republic.
Fearful of Jedi incursion and interference they came upon the concept of a creature to defend against the Jedi that would be cheaper and less obvious than mercenaries or droids. Project Firak was first conceived a year later. Following extensive research a creature was grown in their labs and modified in incubation over a three year period, and was finally released fully grown at the beginning of 15 ABY. However, the experiment did not go to plan. Instead of being the controllable form they had envisaged, the creature known simply as Firak gained consciousness and turned on its creators, slaying them and any other test subjects in a week long manhunt, in the process destroying any available vessel and ultimately trapping itself on Varenon. Devoid of a means of escape Firak survived hunting creatures for food and performing experiments on itself using Lenoris' research and technology to further enhance itself.
In 19 ABY an Imperial Remnant special operations platoon was sent to investigate Varenon lead by the recently promoted Captain Jagos Var. Upon landing they encountered Firak who attacked and slew half the platoon before the Captain was able to order heavy weapons use on the area, destroying the Lenoris' facility and burying Firak under the rubble. Captain Var recorded the creature as destroyed and left the planet recording it as of no further interest.
Unearthed
Ten years later in 29 ABY an independent mining survey team came to Varenon to prospect for rare materials and investigated the ruined facility. Unintentionally unearthing Firak, they were quickly slain by the creature who stole their vessel as a way off the planet. Firak was at long last free.
It has now spent several years roaming local sectors stowing away on cargo vessels, learning about the galaxy and assimilating knowledge.
Description and Abilities
Firak is tall reptilian featured, muscular but also lithe, thick scaled grey skin, claw like hands and yellow eyes.
It is inhumanly fast, strong, exceptionally resilient to blaster weapons and explosives, and is also resistant to lightsabers unless a direct thrust or sustained hits. It is adept at climbing and clinging to most surfaces, can leap up to forty feet and is an exceptionally fast runner on all fours.
Aside from its physical abilities it has exceptional telepathic abilities and senses. It can detect force users from some distance away and is also able to recognize individual minds. Coupled with the ability to mask his own presence, this allows Firak to hunt his unsuspecting prey with relative ease.
It is also able to leech information from minds via physical touch without the need for conversation and is also extremely resistant to force attacks.
Firak uses no actual weapons, preferring to use its own body, teeth and claws, but is highly intelligent with a strong adaptability to technology.
Following it's experimentation on its own body and study of Lenoris' and other available research has given it a high knowledge of genetics and biology. Since it's escape from Varenon it has started abducting various intelligent species for it's research. It still has an obsession in improving itself, using the abductees to further study other species. Firak is starting to reach the ultimate genetic enhancement product, which will make him far more deadlier than he already is.
Above all it still has the instinctive hatred of Force users it's creators instilled in it, and will go all out to kill any it finds or comes across.
