- "Blue Mist: Quick. Deadly. Stealthy. Proud. Dedicated. Sworn. ORIENS COACTUM!!!!!"
- ―Dorn and his views of Blue Mist finishing by screaming the Battleteam's slogan.
- "Oriens Coactum
- Rising Force"
- ―The Blue Mist slogan
Dorn was born on Rodia in the year 10 ABY. Growing up without his family he found out about his Force abilities and studied when he could while killing space pirates and especially while in the Empire since they had databank upon databank of information from the Old Republic. The Dark Side interested him and when a friend, Yadar, told him about the Brotherhood he jumped on it and headed straight for Antei. He was in Clan Exar Kun when it merged with Satel Keto to form Plagueis. He is currently the sniper of Battleteam Blue Mist of House Galeres of Clan Arcona.
Character History
Life on Rodia
Before His Birth and Some Facts
Before Dorn was born a small tribal war was going on in which Iskaayuma had to step in to avoid too many Rodians being killed. Some of those killed were relatives of the unborn Rodian. The reason for Dorn’s odd purple skin pigments is unknown to cause as his mom was sea green and his dad was a dark green. No other purple Rodians have been discovered or known of but if some others are found they will probably be linked to Dorn somehow.
The tribal war was not recorded by Iskaayuma historians but just added as one of the many tribal wars throughout history even though it was the biggest one thus far. In the little tribal war Dorn’s father was one of the best fighter’s for their tribe. That probably explained Dorn’s early interest in learning to fight as he always wrestled his brother.
The Beginning (10 ABY)
Dorn parents’ names are unknown. His brother’s name was Lur. His two sister’s names were, the same as the parents, unknown. His grandfather’s name was Frenk. The family lived peacefully in a village just a few kilometers outside of Rodia’s capital, Iskaayuma. Dorn was born as the youngest in 10 ABY. His sister’s were triplets, born in 6 ABY. Lur was born in 4 BBY, sometime before the Empire started falling.
Dorn quickly gained a strong connection with his brother and grandfather. He also garnished one with the living creatures on Rodia, one that no one understood or could explain. Unbeknownst to them, Frenk was a Force-sensitive and it skipped a generation to Dorn and Lur. Lur had never being trained in the usage of the Force. His grandfather had been a secret apprentice of a Jedi ghost but didn’t finish his training.
The Sword and the Pirates (11 ABY)
- "You may be young but I feel you can use this properly."
- ―Frenk, Dorn’s grandfather, talking to him when he gives him the sword.
A couple days after his first birthday Dorn was given a sword by his grandfather that had his name engraved in it, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds form a ‘D’ near the hilt of the sword.
Dorn was already walking and even though the sword was up high he unknowingly tapped into the Force and made it come to him. His parents were bewildered at the event. His grandfather was just smiling; he could protect himself. Dorn started swinging the sword and cut a table in half, laughing after doing it. Lur missed it all as he had gone to Iskaayuma to study on Dorn’s behavior with nature.
Just a couple hours later some screams were heard outside. Frenk looked out a window and saw slave pirates killing anyone in their path that didn’t seem worth being a slave. He took Dorn and his sword and threw it down a secret hatch. He told Dorn to hide and not come out for a while. He did so. While hiding he heard footsteps above him then a body hit the floor, then another, and another, until it sounded as if his family had been killed off.
When he finally came out he remembered to check the bodies. He saw his parents and his sisters but not his grandfather. He had heard 6 bodies hit the floor. He then noticed a pirate’s body on the ground, of course, dead. The body looked fried by a strange force. He remembered his grandfather cooking food sometimes by using some mysterious force that let him make lightning come from his fingers.
Wandering (11-14 ABY)
Dorn walked outside the house and saw friends and neighbors everywhere, dead. He saw a few dead pirates and knew someone put up a fight. He saw no one else that lived. He feared he would die here but he remembered he had his sword and could try and hunt. He killed a few small rats but had a second thought not to eat them.
He heard a neighbor’s voice a few months later and followed it and saw it was one of his friends. He was now two years old but still was able to handle himself. Dorn and his friend hunted down a Rodian lion and were able to eat it that day. The next day though a small group of pirates returned back to kill any survivors. Dorn helped arm his friend when they saw the ship land. The two infants had to do something.
They were small enough to hide behind walls and catch them off-guard. It was a group of ten. They had gotten all but the last one and they thought to just charge at him. His friend was shot, but Dorn kept going and even though he only came up to the guy’s knees, he got him in the chest when the pirate went to aim for the shot.
Another few years past and Dorn finally learned how to pilot the pirate ship. He found a comlink and since he knew the coordinates of the Iskaayuma Military Force, he contacted them and told them he had a pirate ship and wanted it to get out of the area. He said he could fly it to the city but he couldn’t land it just yet.
The military sent out a few pilots that when they saw Dorn and his small size thought it was a joke but when they asked if he could get it off the ground, he said yes. They said they would let him get it there and they would land it for him.
On the way to the city Dorn asked if they had heard about a Rodian name Lur Ravr I the city. They said yes, he was under protection of the military for finding a secret organization that let the pirates get to the village in the first place.
They arrived and they didn’t think he was joking anymore about knowing how to fly the big piece of aircraft. They landed it for him and told them to get a hold of Lur for him and let the brothers meet up again.
When the two talked Dorn found out that his grandfather was taken as a slave since he had given up such a strong fight that they couldn’t kill someone with so much energy. Lur gave Dorn a weapon that neither knew what it was. Lur told him it made a beam of energy when the button was pressed. He showed him how to equip it, use it, and even to block blaster fire. Lur being not so strong in the Force as Dorn was surprised when Dorn had practically mastered it quicker than him by weeks.
He told Dorn he was sending him to an Imperial Academy to further his fighting skills so he could avenge their family. Lur wasn’t going because he was wanted by the pirates and would be shot upon sight. So Dorn headed to an unknown Imperial Academy to hone his skills.
The Empire
Meeting His Commander (15 ABY)
Now being five standard years old Dorn was at the academy and had gone through enough training to be assigned to work for a commander. This commander they said reminded everyone of Grand Admiral Thrawn, his strategy, look in his eyes, and determination. One difference was that this man had pitch-black skin. The species was known as Leprish. Dorn met the commander and learned his name was Ismak.
Being a Corporal coming out of training with his quick learning, he was sent on a mission with him and Ismak. The two journeyed to a remote planet in the Outer Rim that had a minor dispute. Ismak had gotten injured and Dorn defended him as he got onto the ship for departure from planet whilst under fire. When they got back to the base Ismak promoted Dorn for his outstanding work of defending his commanding officer in the heat of battle.
Through the Ranks (15-20 ABY)
Now being a Sergeant in the early months of 15 ABY, he could command a small group of men. But he chose not to due to only being the age of five. During one of his missions with Ismak he had someone pushed Ismak out of the way of a blaster shot when they were several yards apart. Later when Ismak asked about it, Dorn answered truthfully saying that he didn’t know what happened.
A few missions later and Dorn was promoted again to Staff Sergeant. It was 16 ABY and Dorn was halfway to becoming a commissioned officer in the Imperial Army. The next mission left a group of 50 men a wounded 20 that returned. The next time the 20 men went on a mission, in late 19 ABY, they all came back alive and got promotions. Dorn was now Staff Corporal. He told Ismak he was prepared to command a group of men. But Ismak told him to wait one more rank.
In 20 ABY he got his next rank. He was now First Sergeant, or Master Sergeant. His first mission of commanding a group of men, ten for him, was to go to Endor and recover anything other groups haven’t and to get information about New Republic activity since the battle there.
The mission went smoothly at first but as they went on the New Republic started cropping up everywhere. They just had to get back to their ship. Once there they saw a small squad of 12 New Republic soldiers surrounding it. Another squad was probably inside checking the ship for information. Dorn having a sniper attitude about him pulled out his Tenloss Disrupter Rifle and got three of them right before they noticed the men dead. He told his men to open fire. The outside squad was eliminated quickly. The ones inside came out one by one and were shot as so. One of their men got shot but not fatally. They got back to the base and Dorn requested a promotion for all of his men. They got their promotions and the group was to go on a mission in the Outer Rim.
The End (20 ABY)
They men headed to the Outer Rim. There had been a galactic call for help due to a mysterious force attacking multiple ships, destroying each one within hours. The small squad was to determine the enemy get some information and get out.
They arrived and they saw some humanoid figures with scars all over. They charged the men and killed two of the Imperials before he was killed. They continued on and found a computer terminal. Dorn ordered his men to keep a watch out while he worked on the terminal. He took out his datapad and inserted a new datadisc into it and transferred all data to the datadisc from the terminal. He heard a blaster shot and then a scream of pain. He finished the transfer and left the room to see two more of the scarred humanoids and three more of men dead. With five left, plus him, they eliminated the two and headed back to the ship.
It had been hours before they returned to the ship. One more warrior was waiting for them. He got another of them before Dorn cut his head clean off his shoulders. They got on the ship and headed back to base. Halfway to base Dorn mentioned leaving the Empire. The other four agreed and they left hyperspace in the Coruscant system. Some New Republic escorts took them down to a landing pad. They told everything about their mission. Luckily they cleared the ships logs of where they got the ship. The New Republic asked for the datadisc and Dorn gave it to them. They were released so long as they were not found out to be with the Empire again.
The group each picked out a ship, customized it, and then took off. All five keep in constant contact. One of the men, Brel, is a spy for Dorn in the Empire. Another, Vir, has joined the New Republic and keeping Dorn updated with news of activity.
The Wandering Pirate Hunter (21-24 ABY)
A Strange Symbol (21 ABY and later 26 ABY)
Dorn found a book early in his wandering after the Empire that had an odd logo that he now knows it’s association with by heart. It was the symbol for Clan Arcona. The book spoke of great powers in the dark. He decided to leave the book.
He returned to get the book in 26 ABY but found that it wasn’t there. Later when he was back in Arcona space it struck him that he may have seen the Abyssal Tome with his own eyes but quickly dismissed the thought of such. He still wanted to be sure. He went into the Arcona database and searched for Abyssal Tome. One page asked for his rank and position in the clan. He entered his information and was denied access. He found another page that granted him access. He checked all the pictures of the Tome.
He was shocked at what he found. The planet the Abyssal Tome was found was indeed where he had found it but the one he saw was a hologram as he later learned that a hologram copy of it was placed there for the worthy to see. Apparently the creatures blocking entrance were killed and so a mysterious person took the hologram back to the Selen.
Dorn later found the hologram Abyssal Tome and didn’t tell a single person about him finding t. Apparently surveillance was tight in that area as it wasn’t there the next time he passed by.
At First (21-24 ABY)
After leaving the Empire Dorn wandered for four years hunting down any pirates and killing them. He was captured by one group of pirates but was released by a wandering Wookiee. Dorn killed thousands of pirates but at risks. He met plenty of friends but they all died amongst the fighting during escapes or battles to help others escape. All except for the Wookiee, him and the Wookie fought together on many occasions and freed many people.
One time he met prisoners captured from both the Empire and New Republic. Up until they were released the men worked fine together. They decided on a pact of peace until they met again. Proof that the two factions could work together and have peace.
In 23 ABY Dorn saw the Wookiee again and finally learned his name. The Wookiee was later known as Pertinax Yadar Mandalore and also later, a member of the Brotherhood. That one time Yadar paid special attention to how the Rodian fought and saw how planned out and ahead of the enemy he was. He put in the back of his head and continued.
After the mission Dorn noticed Yadar was thinking about something. When he asked, Yadar just said he was thinking of something that he didn’t need to explain yet.
Dorn released nearly 500 more slaves from the pirates through this four year period.
Special Prisoner and the Brotherhood (24 ABY)
One of those 500 slaves was his grandfather, Frenk. On the way off of the ship a pirate nearly killed Dorn and escaped with Frenk. Dorn laid there with a bunch of weight on top of him. Luckily his Wookiee friend had been following him and was there to help him get out.
Yadar noticed the mental pain Dorn felt from his grandfather being taken as a slave again and decided to reveil to Dorn the source of his powers. When he told Dorn it was the power many Sith and Jedi like Darth Vader and Yoda had used just years before. He also told him there was a group of Dark Jedi that could help him hone his skills in everything more than the Empire had done. Dorn understood.
He told him to journey to the Antei system and they would help him from there.
The Brotherhood (24 ABY-Present)
Clan Exar Kun (24 ABY-Forming of Clan Plagueis)
After passing the Test of Lore at the Shadow Academy Dorn was sent to Clan Exar Kun for his time in the Brotherhood and path to Knighthood. He was gaining ranks fast but was a Dark Jedi Knight before the mergeof Clan Exar Kun and Clan Satal Keto.
Clan Plagueis (Formation-25 ABY)
After the merge of the two clans to make a bigger clan Dorn progressed through the ranks even further to Guardian. He couldn’t seem to get to Jedi Hunter before he just went Rogue and was removed from the ranks of the Clan
Clan Arcona (26 ABY-Present)
After contact with a friend from Plagueis who had transferred to another clan Dorn returned but to Clan Arcona. Rade Tamalar, or Venquis, told him about the powers of Shadowcrafting. Dorn has been in Arcona for years and is just now about to become a Jedi Hunter. Still with certain things to meet before he can start his Trials for Kngithhood.
Since joining Arcona he has been in two battle teams. One in former House Oriens Obscurum. He is now the sniper of Blue Mist. Under the command of First-In-Command Talos d’Tana and Second-In-Command Illian Syn.
Dorn has gone on some recon missions to obtain information on the Yuuzhan Vong and recently was poisoned by an amphistaff in which he has fully recovered.
Dreams
The Sith Lords (27-28 ABY)
- "''Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
- Through passion, I gain strength.
- Through strength, I gain power.
- Through power, I gain victory.
- Through victory, my chains are broken.
- The Force shall free me. "
- ― The Sith Code.
Dorn started having dreams of dieing at the hands of ancient Sith Lords that the Clans and Houses of the Brotherhood are named after. He had another where Revan told him to seek them out at their resting place and pass their tests for the truth about Sith history and some of there tactics for fighting.
He first headed to Korriban. He ran into some other Journeymen that had the same dreams. He mentioned that they should work together and then turn in all the information to the Brotherhood's library. All agreed with him and they headed for one of the tombs, Naga Sadow. They all successfully passed his tests and where told to head for Marka Ragnos where they would be tested individually. Dorn passed and quickly left for the others to fend for themselves for the rest of the time. He was surprised when he found Darth Sidious on Korriban.
He passed that test and started going through the Sith Academy and saw Sion dueling Malak. Revan stopped the two and they explained the hardest test for Dorn. Seek out Exar Kun, pass his test, return back, and beat each of them in a duel. They would supply him a lightsaber. He easily passed Exar Kun’s trials and when he returned a Sith spirit attacked him. He blocked the attack with his armory lightsaber and stabbed it in what he could only guess was the stomach.
Revan stepped out and congratulated Dorn. Then he tossed him a new lightsaber and ordered him to use it instead. Dorn decide to use both as a dual saber technique. Revan didn’t contest and activated his saber and patiently waited for Dorn to strike. Dorn knew they just wanted him to survive. He wouldn’t beat a Sith Lord. He saw Revan slowly step forward and then jump at him. Dorn blocked the attack and swung the other saber. Revan dodged.
Dorn evaded and blocked all of Revan’s attacks but couldn’t hit him. After five minutes, Revan called a tie and told Dorn he was learning. Malak stepped up next and just activated his lightsaber. Dorn deactivated his armory one and battle with just the one. After nearly half an hour Revan told them to stop.
Sion stepped up and just charged Dorn. Blocking is all Dorn could do. Succeeding, Revan had no choice but to tell him that he was learning their ways. They all gave him their views of what happened in their times. That lead to him being directed to a door that had items that would grant him permanent access to the academy.
Dorn noticed the others had succeeded as well as he stepped into the valley again. Them holding they same items he was. He headed back to Antei gave them the information and heading back to Dajorra to give them the information as well.
Power Through Knowledge
- "I feel so... helpless."
- ―Threepio in Episode III.
After giving the information to both Arcona and the Brotherhood he went to look over it all and find secrets within the words. First he opened Revan’s data. He noticed that everything seemed the same as what was in their logs. He felt disappointed until he noticed that Revan had given one fact: Everyone gets power through his or her own means, try knowledge.
Dorn decided that it was something Revan added for his eyes. He checked the others and each left that same thing. So he read their views continually for months and slowly noticed the differences. He is still learning from the passages.
Strange Forces
Their Discovery
While on a leave of absense one time Dorn ran into an odd group of hostile stormtroopers that looked similar to the Empire’s BlackHole stormtroopers and Ismak’s personal guards.
Whilst on another leave of abscense Dorn ran into them again and this time found out who there leader was. He was later forced to kill him.
Their Leader
When Dorn met with the leader of this mysterious group he found out it was Ismak. His commanding officer from his Imperial days. Later Dorn got attacked by a squad of the stormtroopers and with some help, killed them. He saw Ismak and chased after him. Ismak took off. Unlucky for him, they went itno an alleyway where Dorn could get the easiest snipe of his life. He pulled out his then Tenloss Disruter Rifle and took aim. Shot him and killed him with the body intact.
He still gave Ismak the proper buriel and honored for his leadership. Dorn has foud out that Ismak had four brothers. The five controlled a secret organization. When Ismak was killed the other four went into hiding. Each coming out with time. At the moment only two are left as Dorn as killed the other two. He hopes that if anyone in the Brotherhood sees them that they will kill them upon sight.
His Family
Frenk Ravr, Grandfather
His grandfather was born in an unknown year and Dorn followed in his footsteps by learning things about the Force from the ghosts of past Force users. Dorn was yet again reunited with his grandfather shortly before the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the Brotherhood. Frenk died of natural causes on Gethsemane in a special home made by Dorn in 28 ABY. He is now pushing Dorn on against the Yuuzhan Vong.
Lur Ravr, Brother
His brother born in 4 BBY, was trained in combat by special military officials of the Rodian military, Imperial military, and the New Republic military. He died along side Dorn in a battle against the New Republic on Rodia just weeks before the Yuuzhan Vong invaded Rodia. Even though he barely knew about the Force he was strong enough to become a ghost. But he is only strong enough to appear for Dorn.
Armory
His Weapons
Dorn has many weapons. Some he uses for missions with Blue Mist sometimes he uses his own weapons. He loves his E-11 Rifle, X-45 Sniper Rifle, and he still has his sword that he got from his grandfather. He carries a katana for those his sword can’t reach. He always equips plenty of explosives. Of those are 10 Cryo-Ban grenades, 5 Thermal Detonators, 3 Trip Mines, and 3 Concussion grenades.
His Armor
When Dorn isn’t wearing the standard Blue Mist armor he wears robes with a base design of the Antei Combat Centre’s Gladiator armor. He doesn’t wear the standard Blue Mist flight suit though, he wears an outfit similar to a TIE Pilot’s pilotsuit ith a special helmet customized to fit his Rodian head.
DJB Facts
Dorn started in Clan Exar Kun and then was in Clan Plagueis when it merged with Satal Keto. He then went Rogue and after a while transferred from Rogues to Arcona where he has been for awhile now. He has been Guardian for 2 years, probably the longest anyone has been any position below Dark Jedi Knight, while active too.
