Draca Zul is a male Zabrak Jedi and peacekeeper. He was born and raised on Iridonia, and was discovered to be Force-Sensitive at the age of five. His Force Sensitivity developed to a point where he could feel the tug of the Force calling him to a location nearby. He located a Jedi Convert made up of Force-Sensitive Zabrak, and learned from them the ways of the Jedi.

Character History

Youth And Upbringing (23ABY - 28ABY

Draca Zul was born the eldest of three siblings on Iridonia, one homeworld of the Zabrak species. He has a younger sister and an even younger brother. Draca was born into a loving family, the son of moderately successful traders of Iridonian goods.

Even at a young age, Draca was shown to be naturally intelligent. He was good at learning, picking Basic and Zabraki up very quickly. When he turned five, his sensitivity to the Force awoke. Having sensed this, Draca's family were approached by a Zabraki Jedi Convert that offered him the chance to learn the ways of the Jedi from them in their makeshift temple within the mountains.

Draca was allowed to keep contact with his family, with his education during the day turning to Jedi studies, philosophy, and training. In the evening and nights, he could return to his family.

Training (28ABY - 39ABY)

For eleven years, Draca attended the Jedi Covenant, developing good relations with his fellow Force Sensitive Zabraks and students just like him. He developed quickly, and was among the top of his peers. Early on into the beginning of his training, Draca's keenness to learn captured the attention of his teachers, and soaked up whatever knowledge he could with vigorous determination, even in his spare time.

His training was by no means easy, but his Masters were fair, and intended to teach lessons through example rather than through holotexts. To love, not hate. To accept, not destroy. To heal, not hurt. That was the way of the Jedi.

Night of the Fire

The Jedi Convert, however, was not meant to last. In 39 ABY, the Zabrak Jedi Convert was attacked by a cult of Dathomirian origin. Luckily, Draca wasn't at the Convert during the attack, but could see the smoke rising in the distance, and smell the burning wood and ash in the air.

Without a second thought, Draca took the nearest available speeder and beelined it towards the makeshift temple. His heart was heavy with the suffering of his fellow Zabrak Jedi. When he arrived, the temple had been burned down and everyone within, Jedi and apprentices alike, all dead. Amongst the carnage, Draca spotted symbols and signs left behind by what appeared to be the Nightsister cult of Dathomir.

Filled with anger and grief, Draca set off after them.

The Fated Duel

Draca caught up with the Nightsister followers in the Iridonian Outlands. He was vastly outnumbered, but their leader, a female Dathomirian Zabrak self-identified as Portia Anc, challenged him to a one-on-one duel.

Draca, being only sixteen years of age at the time, was defeated with Portia sparing his life out of pity rather than anything else. Draca was unable to do anything as the cult left the Iridonian atmosphere to return to Dathomir. All that could be heard were Draca's screams of anguish, his revenge denied.

Leaving Iridonia

Defeated, Draca was on his way home to his family when a thought crossed his mind. If he went back to them, his family could be put in danger. If the cult was able to find the Jedi Convert, they might still be able to track him back to the ones he cared about most and finish the task at a later date.

To prevent this, he made the most difficult decision of his life at that point. He took the nearest shuttle off-world to protect his family. He had no destination in mind, but as long as it was far away from Iridonia, he didn't care.

Reaching Kasiya (40 ABY)

Jedi are meant to help those in need. That was what Draca had been taught. For two years he wandered the galaxy as a lone Jedi helping those in need wherever he could. His curiosity was piqued when along the Correlian Trade Spine he heard rumours of a nearby system containing Force users. He decided to go and see for himself. Unfortunately, his timing was terrible as the shuttle arrived during the attack of the Children of Mortis upon the Clan Taldryan homeworld of Kasiya. The shuttle was shot down in the atmosphere, and crash-landed to the East of the Arroyo District.

Arroyo Protector (40ABY - 41 ABY)

Draca was luckily far enough away from the invasion that the shuttle was left undisturbed for the most part. However, the Arroyo District was home to many lower-class citizens within the city, including a Twi'Lek population that witnessed the crash occur. Nima Anu, a young Twi'Lek Field Medic, pulled Draca from the wreckage and nursed him back to health in the aftermath of the attack on Port Kasiya. Thankfully, Draca's injuries weren't too serious, and he made a full recovery in the weeks after the event.

Draca was touched by the help Nima and the rest of the Twi'Leks showed him. He has remained in the Arroyo District since as a loyal protector of the citizens in the area.

Description

Appearance And Attire

Draca is a tall, pale-skinned Male Zabrak. He is slender, though athletically toned. He has brown eyes, and a set of horns atop his head that are typical of his species, though they are mostly covered by the brown-haired mullet that extends down to the bottom of his neck. He has a small birthmark on his chest

He maintains a set of Jedi Robes in an almost spotless navy blue, white, and brown mix. He wears a Jedi Cloak over the top of it, and various pendants of Jedi origin, including a Jedi Compass pointing towards Tython, a planet he wishes to visit one day.

Draca uses two lightsabers, one with a blue blade and one with a green blade to compliment his fighting

Personality

Draca is an incredibly kind-hearted Zabrak. He has often been described as needing both his hearts for how often he cares about others. He's naturally empathetic to the plight of others, but very excitable. He's naturally intelligent, brilliant at puzzles and riddles, and as a Jedi, believes it is his sworn duty to help others when they need it. Because of his youth, he is fairly naive, and can be easily manipulated as a result.

He, is above all else, a sensitive soul. He very much has a Jedi nature, and is naturally empathetic to the plight of others. When he sees someone is upset, he will not shy away from giving them a cuddle to try and make them feel better. After all, what makes people feel better more than a good hug? Some say Draca gives the best ones. He understands loss after the Jedi Covenant he was trained at was destroyed.

Unfortunately, not everyone appreciates a good cuddle, and some can be put off from his care and affection.

Combat Abilities

Force Powers

Draca Zul was trained as a Jedi by a Zabrak Jedi Convert on Iridonia. He was extremely intelligent. He leaned towards more physical applications of the Force more so than anything else, including Amplification and Control Self. He was a natural with the ability to Sense with the Force, and like most Force-Users, had an acceptable application of Telekinesis.

However, Draca is, for the most part, a close-quarter combatant and heavily relies heavily on his lightsaber. He uses the Force more to amplify his physical traits in combat rather than attack from a distance.

Vaapad

Draca grew quickly, and at his full weight stood at two metres tall. He was a natural with a lightsaber in his hand, and even better with two. Form VII was usually forbidden to be taught without specific criteria being met first. Because of Draca's boundless energy and highly emotional connection to the Force, he was given tutelage in Vaapad.

This is further accentuated by the Zabrak Martial Art of K'thri, and Jar'Kai, which took advantage of Draca's seemingly boundless speed and energy to create a highly kinetic and offensive style of fighting.

Vaapad, however, is a Form that flows perilously close to the penumbra of the Dark Side. It requires a lot of control to use whilst staying in the Light, something Draca can struggle with in prolonged engagements. Without access to the Force, Draca can ultimately struggle.

After crash landing East of the Arroyo District, Nima was the one who successfully retrieved Draca from the wreckage and nursed him back to health. They have a strong friendship, despite Draca's more introverted nature and Nima's more daring personality. She is often dragging him into situations and trouble in Port Kasiya
