Sy-Lu Xera is currently the commanding officer of Regimental Combat Team Beta of Clan Plagueis's Ascendant Legion. He is also known as "Sylux".
History
Sylux was born on the Cerean home planet of Cerea. During the Clone Wars, an organisation known as the Confederacy of Independent Systems started to hold numerous Cereans hostage in an attempt to gain knowledge of superior technology. Two of these hostages were Sylux's parents, who unlike others, were not afraid of their captors and in fact wanted to join the Separatist movement.
Officials in the movement were made known of this and his parents joined the Seperatist cause shortly before Sylux was born. Growing up in the years following the war, Sylux did everything he could to distance himself from his parents and their reputation as traitors, eventually joining the Galactic Empire and being ranked as Lieutenant in the Imperial Army. Following the Imperial surrender, Sylux worked with several different Imperial splinter groups before making his way to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood and, eventually, Clan Plagueis.
Affiliation with Plagueis
Sy-Lu Xera was appointed as commanding officer of Army Force Nexu in 30 ABY following the Horizons Crisis. Along with General Ranthe Benzayn, Sylux was one of the few officers who survived the attack on Plagueis by Zoraan's Fleet. During the Crisis, Sylux helped co-ordinate various successful guerrilla style attacks on the opposition and his actions were noticed by those in charge at Plagueis and following the death of his superior, he was swiftly promoted from Lieutenant Colonel to Brigadier. His familiarity with the necessary tactics lead to his assignment as commander of Regimental Combat Team Beta following the restructuring of the Ascendant Legion in 35 ABY.
Personality and Traits
Like most Cereans, Sylux was very wise and logical thinking due to his binary brains. Subsequently, he has become a master tactician and a very powerful leader in terms of both ground and aerial forces. Furthermore, like other Cereans, Sylux follows the tradition of going into battle with his fellow soldiers, despite being a high-ranking officer and it not being a requirement for him.
In terms of fighting abilities, Sylux is a known practitioner of Shyarn-ado, once again another Cerean tradition in which the wielder uses a Shyarn blade (a curved, single edged sword), taking advantage of their binary brains and years of training, profiting from the use of speed, flexibility and quick tactical thinking.
