Garm Bessek is a Mandalorian Mercenary from the group known as Arpat Akaan, or "Seed of War". A deadly and versatile warrior, he came to Jusadih in 24 ABY before being caught up in the War of Ascension as a mercenary employed by the Jusadih Independence Coalition. However, before his work was finished, he was offered substantially more money and protection by the Jusadih Military Regime and was involved in the elimination of many Crimson Tide assets. Betrayed after the War and dubbed a criminal, Bessek and his crew of renegade Mando'ade currently get most of their money from the Hutts of the Grardella Syndicate.
History
In the works.
Physical Description
- "Over there, in the corner. Built like a rancor with fifteen guns strapped to it."
- ―Kapsina bartender, in reference to Bessek.
Garm Bessek is a particularly large humanoid, standing at two meters in height and weighing an estimated two-hundred sixty five pounds. He is powerfully built, with every muscle in his body toned and hardened from a Mandalorian lifestyle, and yet he is incredibly agile - few can match his reflexes and inherent speed. All that can be said of his description beyond this is that his voice has a gruff quality to it, but this may be due to some sort of disguise; none have ever seen him without his armor on.
Bessek's base abilities are further enhanced by his armor itself, which contains many systems and machines to actively enhance strength, speed, and agility. These connect directly with his mind via a neural uplink implant, alongside a reflex-boosting implant - these have been said to put him on par with many Equite-level Force users in terms of bodily ability and reflexes. He has undergone surgery in the past to reinforce his spine, but not to repair any damage; he simply wanted it to be unbreakable. His left eye has been replaced with a prosthesis that gives him enhanced visual modes, while implants that speed his body's regeneration mean that wounds heal in days rather than weeks.
Personality
Garm Bessek is what many would call gritty and ruthless; he has no time for elaborate speeches or drama, and has nothing on his mind except the next pay-off. His speech is caustic at best, while his mannerisms are quite cruel. He is known to frequent cantinas and gambling dens, though he is never seen drinking and rarely gambles; more commonly, he awaits clients and watches for potential threats. A mercenary at heart and a warrior in the soul, his crude sense of humor and blunt nature hide a razor edge.
While he doesn't believe in ceremony or ritual, Garm is a very strong adherent to the ways of the Mandalorians. He is never much of a team player and is only loosely affiliated with Arpat Akaan, but still holds himself to a code of strength, honor, and self-sufficiency. This can be seen from his high-priced weaponry to his bodily implants, and is even shown in his extreme training regiments. Put simply, the man lives, eats, and breathes war; the next job is all that he lives for.
Weaponry and Equipment
Current Charges
At present, the Jusadih Military Regime has posted several different charges against Bessek, all of which would essentially see the man captured, given a direct trial by the Supreme Commander, heavily tortured for information, and summarily sentenced to a lifetime imprisoned in carbonite at Tyr Prison - Bessek's ability to elude capture has seen him deemed too hated to be allowed to die.
Currently, the Mandalorian Garm Bessek stands charged of:
- Twenty five counts of High Treason against Jusadih.
- Five hundred seventy seven counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
- Eighty three counts of First Degree Murder.
- Sixty six counts of Grand Theft Spacecraft.
- Ten counts of Impersonating a Regime Officer.
- Forty four counts of Piracy.
- Thirty-one counts of Vehicular Homicide.
- One count of Inappropriate Activities Involving a Cannok.
It should be noted that three of his High Treason charges were assigned after he successfully aided Plagueis in overthrowing the Feudalist JIC - he was charged for acts that he was paid to do by the same government that aimed to imprison him. As for his Cannok charge, when asked about it by any who are not close, he will often assault them in retribution. Those close to him report that he simply shudders at the memory and remains silent.
Trivia
- Garm Bessek was designed for a competition for Primus Pilus as an NPC that the members had to either kill or have escape. As he escaped in the winning entry, he now survives, albeit minus one modified E-Wing.
- Garm is not a part of a "Clan", per se - Arpat Akaan is a mercenary organization. He, like all of the others, is happy to accept Jusadih credits regardless of what the source may be.
- Trained viciously, extremely lethal, and equipped beyond belief, Garm is one of the few men in Jusadih who can boast of facing a Dark Jedi and surviving without a scratch.
- Garm Bessek has never had, and will never have, anything to do with the Ge'tal Gaan Mandalorians of the Tenth Great Jedi War.
