General Vessel Information
The Crusader-class corvette was a warship in use during the Galactic Civil War. It was produced by Mandal Hypernautics and named after the ancient Mandalorian Crusaders. Made to counter starfighters and bombers, the Crusader-class corvette carried as many weapons as it could without compromising its space-worthiness. It was also faster than any other similar ship of its time. Together, these made the Crusader an extremely pricey vessel. Crusaders were also known to utilize an advanced point-defense weapon system that allowed the ships to actually shoot down enemy missiles or torpedoes before they damaged friendly ships. This made the corvettes a valuable support addition to a fleet.
History
The Ajunta Pall was a clandestine purchase directly from Mandal Hypernautics. Although the price of ensuring that the transaction went unrecorded was relatively steep, the potential price of leaving a paper trail was considered much higher. The New Republic, which the Mandalorians were supporting at the time, might well have caught wind of it and investigated the sale of such a sophisticated anti-starfighter platform to Plagueis’ civilian façade. It was attached to the Clan Headquarters on Kapsina, partnered with the Vengeance for mutual defense.
The ship fought determinedly at the Battle of Antei, surviving far longer than its counterpart Victorian and breaking up several attack runs on the Vengeance. A number of survivors were rescued amid the carnage, despite the deliberate targeting of their escape pods by vengeful coralskippers. This intertwining of fates helped to reinforce Clan unity at a time when some of its non-Jedi began to consider giving the enemy the sacrifices they wanted.
