Gryden Carr is the Captain of the DP20 Disquiet Balance. He is considered to be one of the best spacecraft mechanics in the fleet and his ship reflects this in its immaculate running condition.
History
Gryden Carr was born in 10 ABY in the suburbs of Celeste. His father was one of the best mechanics on Selen. The members of the High Society of Celeste all brought their speeders to his father’s shop. His mother was a drunken gambler who constantly berated Gryden’s father for not charging people more for his services. Gryden helped his father at the shop and proved to be an excellent mechanic in his own right.
When Gryden turned 17, his father bought him a home in the suburbs two streets from his family home. The gift came as a surprise because Gryden had never thought of his father as a wealthy man. His father was grooming him to take over the family business and explained that the shop brought in much more money than Gryden’s mother knew because she would have spent the family fortune and Gryden’s inheritance.
Gryden continued to work at his father’s shop until the Vong attack on Selen. In the aftermath of the initial attack he joined the AAF and became a spacecraft mechanic to the dismay of his father who is a staunch pacifist. He worked his way up through the ranks and is now the Flight Deck Chief aboard the AGV Nighthawk.
When the Nighthawk was lost under the command of Xenna Azara, Gryden was momentarily relocated to serve aboard the Hail of Shadow, before being promoted to full Captainship in 35 ABY. He was transferred to the DP20 Corellian Gunship "Disquiet Balance" and given command of the vessel, just in time for the war against the Collective.
Personality
Gryden takes his work very seriously. He holds to military tradition and is extremely loyal to his unit. A pilot had better respect his ships and if they don’t he isn’t afraid to put higher-ranking officers on report. His father has all but broken ties completely because of his choice to join the AAF. Gryden spends his spare time reading technical manuals and gathering as much information as he can about small ships.
