Personality and Appearance

Personality and Hobbies

Growing up with rationally strict parents, Delaana composes herself with the harshest, self-imposed, professionalism and discipline. She personally presses her uniforms the moment they return from laundry services and will not tolerate any imperfections. She agrees with most of Lt. Seith Ornil’s principles almost to the point of sexual attraction.

Her free time consist of consuming exactly measured meals and reviewing technical documentation and standard operating manuals. She strives for perfection in her understanding and operation of starfighters which leads some medical professionals to believe she may have borderline Asperger’s Syndrome.

Appearance

Delaana is a frigid woman; always wearing her hair in a tight bun, posture always perfect and frown permanently affixed to her face. Her composure adds years to her appearance, often considered 20 years, or more, older than her actual age. She is a tall, wiry woman which often requires her flight suites be custom made.

History

Early Years

Delaana was born in Coronet City on Corellia. Her parents both worked for the Corellian Engineering Corporation, her mother worked in the Corporation’s planet side administration office while her father worked, and lived, on the various ship yards within the system.

She attended one of the numerous public schools in Coronet City, excelling in mathematics and physics. From an early age she took a keen interest in the various ships her father help design and would often be found reading her fathers technical manuals when he return to Corellia to visit his family.

After her eighteenth birthday, and graduation from school, Delaana began working with CEC as a test pilot. The position was normally reserved for ex-military pilots but her father used his contacts to convince his bosses that her technical aptitude would likely surpass a number of their current pilots within a few weeks.

New Republic Defense Fleet

Having flown experimental starships for three years, Delaana decided to enlist with the New Republic Defense Fleet. Her natural discipline allowed her to easily pass basic training and initial officer training and after two years found herself stationed aboard a defender-class assault carrier assigned to one of the three E-wing squadrons.

Prior to the Yuuzhan Vong War, Delaana only saw action during the Battle of the Redoubt. During the War she gained numerous accolades, medals and promotions while narrowly escaping defeat during the abundant conflicts.

Tarentum Navy

What would be her final mission with the New Republic saw her, and the squadron she now lead, escorting a freighter through the Yridia system. The escort strayed too close to what she would later know as The Sword's Sheath, this seeming innocent violation of Tarentum space resulted in the freighter captured and ransacked, her squadron shot down and Delaana captred.

Her captors, having used their contacts to gain her service record, gave Delaana two options; defecting to the Tarentum Navy or death. Knowing she would be under close scrutiny from her superiors in Tarentum, but understanding that it was her only option, she agreed to defection.

Delaana was afforded the reduced rank of Ensign and assigned to the Rapax Squadron.
