The Tarthosian city of New Eden is a modern city commissioned by the Quaestor of House Marka Ragnos, then Battlelord Hades, in 38 ABY. Due to the changes in climate of Lugar Mau due to increased but stable volcanic activity in the middle of the continent and several thermal vents developing in the Long Sea. The eastern end of the land mass has become a tropical paradise. Seeing the change and sensing opportunity, Warlord Hades began to plan out his new city.

Overview of New Eden

Looking to increase his House and Clan’s holdings in addition to the additional revenue and opportunities a city of this type would create, Quaestor Hades created a dummy corporation in secret and began clearing a section of Lugar Mau’s easternmost peninsula’s tip. After a few short months of negotiations, the Quaestor had secured contracts from the six largest casino/gambling conglomerates in the galaxy to build exclusive high-end casinos and hotels in New Eden. With news of the venture discretely “leaked” to other hospitality companies (such as restaurant, entertainment venues, even sports team owners) commitments for hundreds of other businesses to support the future wealthy clientele were both negotiated and consequently signed.

The clearing of land and the first construction work on New Eden began upon the signing of the first contract in 38 ABY. The large project was kept hidden from most everyone else in both Ragnosian House and the Clan. A brand new, large core world-like spaceport was built just south of the New Eden site in order to increase the pace of construction and to give another avenue for tourism and business to flow into the new venture. The city’s infrastructure was in place as well as city administration and security buildings were completed by the end of 38 ABY. In early 39 ABY the first casino/hotel was completed with the remaining five being completed two months later. The first residents and workers began arriving as the casino/hotels finished construction. Within a short period of time a thriving city began to emerge.

Currently, New Eden is the home to over 1.5 million full time residents. With visitors and tourists the population numbers jump up to well over 2 million.

Layout of the City

The City of New Eden is laid out in four separate sections.

Sector One

The first section is the beach resort section. Located at the tip of the New Eden Peninsula, this bustling tropical haven is home to many small boutique hotels and resorts catering to the high-end clientele. Glistening white sands adorn the beaches of this area with many restaurants and shops located just steps away from the water. An advanced electric security net 150 yards into the water keeps any curious sea creatures away. As you move further from the very tip begin the lush beach-front private residences of the rich that stretch for miles and miles with new construction projects beginning daily. Additional housing units have been built further inward from the beaches for the not-as-wealthy residents of New Eden.

Sector Two

The Downton section is where most of the Casinos and large Hotels have made their mark along a central boulevard known as The Golden Mile. This is the epicenter of the entertainment venues in New Eden. Most of the city’s shows and attractions can be located at the six main casinos and the dozens of off-Mile smaller casinos and venues located nearby. Celebrity restaurateurs have already begun to make a name for themselves with their restaurants located along the Golden Mile. This section encompasses the majority of the interior portion of New Eden.

Sector Three

The third section is the New Eden Spaceport. This spaceport is separated into two sections. The largest section takes up over seventy-five percent of the allotted space and is dedicated to those who come to play and relax on New Eden. Boasting the most luxurious finishes and hardwoods the elite are used to, this spaceport is glistening white on most surfaces. The facility can accommodate hundreds of personal shuttles and starships within the facility and there are dozens of capital-ship sized landing pads to either side. The smaller portion of the spaceport, which is sealed off and separate from the main section to improve security, is where the staff and workers are welcomed. This section can accommodate several transports of various sizes up to and including the AA-9 Freighter-Liner.

Sector Four

The fourth section is located further south, past the Spaceport. This section is the housing quarters for the staff and workers of New Eden. Streaming in from all corners of the galaxy with the promise of a beautiful environment and good working conditions and pay, the beings and make New Eden run reside here. Built with a mix of single-family dwellings up to multi-unit buildings. Parks, entertainment, shopping and restaurants for these residents lay all around these residential districts.

Security

The large civilian spaceport will hold a company of Stormtroopers belonging to the 1st Tactical Mission Battalion, and will augment the local security forces the city government has hired to keep peace within the city. To assist in this venture, the company will be aided by two Patrol Gunships. There will be a security station located in the middle of downtown New Eden, just off The Golden Mile. This security station will be run exclusively by forces belonging to House Marka Ragnos. To this end, a second stormtrooper company would be stationed there. A second pair of Patrol Gunships will be assigned to help maintain security at this station.

Located further south on the peninsula will be a military spaceport and garrison that will house the remaining two companies of the 1st Tactical Mission Battalion as a quick reaction force to aid New Eden security personnel in the event of a major emergency. Also located at this spaceport will be three TIE/FO Squadrons. The TIE squadrons are tasked with patrol, customs and inspection duties around New Eden, as well as heavy fire support if needed.

Just to the south of the military spaceport and garrison is a security barrier erected from east to west with both ends terminating in the sea on each side. This electric and physical security fence is to keep out any unwanted individuals or entities of any kind. With several reconnaissance teams from House Marka Ragnos vanishing in the interior of Lugar Mau in the past, Warlord Hades did not take any chances with the security of New Eden.
