Shay Thelin is an infamous relic hunter in the employ of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood's Holocron Center.
Early History as a Slaver
Thelin was born on the planet Zygerria to a working class family. His mother died in childbirth and his father worked as a cargo pilot along the Listehol Run hyperlane route running through the system. With his father often away for long periods of time, Shay often found himself loitering at the spaceport looking for opportunities to pickpocket from the crowds of slave trade customers.
As a teenager, Thelin fell into an opportunity to join the deck crew of a well-known Aurore-class freighter called the Tro'gen, captained by famed slaver Yeur My'en. Now officially in the hierarchy of the Zygerrian Slavers Guild, Thelin would work hard to develop his persistence, guile and shrewdness while learning to capture "valuable" species.
Major accomplishments include the capture of numerous Wookiee generals and at least one Chief Mandalorian warrior for sale to private buyers. The purpose of these purchases is thought to be "sporting" in nature.
Thelin's ship and crew would become infamous for their efficiency and brutailty in completing their bounties. Furthermore, Thelin as a captain was brutal towards his crew, demanding absolute loyalty and had, on numerous occasion, expelled entire crews out of air-locks at the slightest hint of mutiny.
Recruitment to the Brotherhood
Thelin's notoriety for skills in scouting, tracking and trapping brought the attention of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. For an undisclosed salary, Thelin was hired by the Holocron Center of the Brotherhood with the sole purpose of locating and retrieving high profile lore objects for use in the Brotherhood's alchemical studies.
Brotherhood Jobs
Thelin is responsible for locating at least a half dozen Sith Holocrons for use by the Dark Brotherhood, many of which required the dispatching of their former owners. How Thelin, a non-Force user, is capable of terminating a trained Sith is unclear, but some believe that with the vast wealth that he acquired during his Slaving career he has outfitted himself with high quality cortosis-weave tactical gear and next-generation weaponry which can overwhelm most average to slightly above average Force users.
In addition to Holocrons, Thelin has also exhumed numerous ancient Sith Lords from their secret and well guarded burial sites with the purpose of retrieving relics buried therein, such as rings, swords, various items of armor and tomes.
Personality
Thelin is a textbook sociopath with complex narcissistic disorder. He has explicit understanding of what is an appropriate social reaction for many of his interactions, and will feign appropriate behavior accordingly. However, he is at his core cold and calculating, always looking for his next "catch" in order to increase his profits or fame. This has often lead to him spontaneously capturing mere acquaintances because he felt that they had qualities that would fetch a sufficient price.
