| James Singleton Roberts-Brannigan was born in a family of soldiers to John Solomon and Carrie Anne Roberts-Brannigan. His maternal grandfather was a Jedi who escaped Order 66 by staging his death a year before to have a relationship with a Coruscanti soldier he had grown fond of during their time on the battlefield. Carrie Anne would be the third child, being born six years later. His parents ran around in the same crowd as teenagers and would marry later on. John Solomon came from a family of soldiers and followed suit by joining the Imperial Remnant. He then married the love of his life and the two began a family, James the fourth child, being born in 13 ABY. | | |

| James grew up with 4 brothers and a sister, three who followed their father's footsteps and became soldiers. When he was a child, he discovered that he had an amazing gift. He could push things away and pull things towards him by thinking it. During a short leave from his unit after returning from a tour in the field, his father took James to the theatre to experience a holodrama. After they left the theatre and stopped at a shop to buy his mother a bouquet of flowers, the two were surrounded by a group of muggers. Believing the life of his son was in danger, John Solomon Roberts-Brannigan killed two of the criminals and rendered the third a quadriplegic. John was stabbed in the process and died of a sucking chest wound shortly afterwards. Witnessing the death of his father would push James to study the secrets of Jedi Healing later on in the Academy. | | After the destruction of Alderaan, which claimed the lives of Carrie Anne's parents as well as most of James's extended family, the the Roberts-Brannigans would resettle on Chandrila, where they would become members of the Rebel Alliance. John Solomon joined the Alliance Special Forces in 1 ABY. During his brief periods of leave in between his unit's missions, John Solomon and Carrie Anne established a home and started a family. Carrie Anne gave birth to her second child, James, in 10 ABY. |

| His mother sent him away to the Brotherhood, after the death of his father, knowing he would make something of himself as a Jedi. It took a few weeks for the feelings of homesickness to go away, something that James held against his mother for a number of years before he realized that she was trying to give him a better life and forgave her. He would spend the next 15 years at the Academy learning and maturing into a young man. While at the Academy, his mentor, Master Eliza Caldari, was one of the most important influences over his development. James would excelled in the quarterstaff and the rifle while at the Academy.

John Solomon, protecting his son, unhesitantly engaged and killed the thugs. | His final trial before completing his studies at the Academy was to find and rescue Master Eliza Caldari. Master Caldari had went in search of a force anomaly called the Abakan. James found her a few days after being assigned the mission. Eliza Caldari had found and defeated the Abakan, being transformed into the new Abakan. She was no longer the mentor he knew and loved, but a cold hearted force anomaly. He survived his encounter, reluctantly refusing the Abakan's enticements with promises of changing his past and his future, before being "tagged" in the form of a tattoo on his right pectoral that glows blue and flares up whenever he is near a force hotspot. He recovered her double lightsaber and keeps it on his desk in respect and remembrance of Master Caldari. After informing his Academy adviser that he had found Master Caldari and had been unable to retrieve her, James was informed that he had passed his trials and was being posted to one of the more secretive houses in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, Independent House Revan. | | === The Aria Chandra === |

| | After her parent's deaths, Carrie Anne had inherited a large sum of credits and assets that had originally belonged to her great grandfather, who had built an empire transporting cargo on the more dangerous and remote routes in the galaxy. While the prominence of Octhar Transports had been diminished in the decades following due to the competition and saturation of other startups, Carrie Anne transformed the assets into a thriving business while John Solomon was away fighting for the Rebellion. |

| | With his father's death, James fell into a period of anger and despair. He made a series of bad decisions, cumulating in being expelled from his prominent boarding school and rejection by the premier university that produced the leaders of industry and the highest levels of government leaders on Chandrila. Feeling rejected, he sought to get away from his mother by joining Octhar Transports as a deckhand. |
| James would report to the Quaestor, Eiko Lanzer, a few weeks later. He worked hard in developing himself as a good, dependable Journeyman. Having completed the requirements for Protector, he was approached by Eiko and accepted his offer to become his apprentice. He can generally be found within eyesight of his Master. | |

| | James was assigned to the Aria Chandra, under the command of Captain Eliza Caldari, on the Outer Rim route. During his first run, James suspected that the Aria Chandra was much more then a mere transport ship. On his third run, his suspicions were confirmed. The Aria Chandra was chartered to carry a group of people and equipment to the Ileenium System, who James determined were soldiers. Slipping into the hold one night while the ship was in hyperspace, James surreptitiously opened a cargo pallet to discover military equipment. As he was putting things back, Eliza Caldari walked in. |

| | Surprised, he was uncertain what would become of him. Using a suggestive tone, Eliza interrogated him, starting with his childhood and ending with his assignment onboard the Aria Chandra. She pressed him for more details around the death of his father, causing his anger to flare, pushing the pallets around them against the walls violently. She gazed as he looked uncomfortable, then closed her eyes as the pallets returned to their places. Eliza told him things would be fine, that he would find solace on her ship and its covert mission of supporting a new resistance. In the weeks and years after, James became a studious apprentice, a competent navigator and a confident member of Eliza's crew. |

| Roberts-Brannigan stands at 6'1" and possesses an athletic build through years of swimming and running.
| | Serving on the Aria Chandra for seven years brought much change. The crew changed over the years, with many coming and leaving. James stayed aboard, being elevated to radio operator, navigator, and ultimately the first officer. At 22, he was second in command and a grizzled veteran with hundreds of hours of flight time and a handful of skirmishes with pirates. As a force user, he spent a great deal of his off time training and meditating. The anger he once possessed had mostly been contained with the ever so perceptive tutelage of Eliza Caldari. |

| The wooden quarterstaff was the first weapon that James mastered during his time in the Academy. He kept the quarterstaff that was given to him as a teenager by Master Eliza Caldari as a gift and placed it on the wall of his quarters above his bed. It is his most familiar weapon and one that he uses in training, preferring the whack of wood over the zap of an electro staff while teaching those who want to learn the art of the staff weapon.

| James found a factory new DLT-20A for sale on Antei and bought it. He cut off six inches from the front of the DLT-20A as well as replaced the power source and built a quad fire selector system on the rifle. The result was a carbine that could fired weaker bolts as fast as a blaster rifle or more powerful bolts of a long rifle as well as a stun setting and a ion setting. The carbine was accurate up to 200 meters. The state of the art power source allowed him to fire up to 600 blaster bolts or 120 sniper bolts (where 30 had been the norm before the modification). After firing almost 20,000 rounds, he had fixed all the kinks to the factory new rifle and considered it his masterpiece.

| Master Eliza Caldari was an Obelisk Templar and an instructor at the Shadow Academy who had taken an interest in him a year after he entered the Shadow Academy. She taught him how to fight with the quarterstaff from a young age, being an expert with pole weapons and saberstaves. She would later paved the way for him to enter the Order of the Krath. Eliza Caldari served as James's surrogate mother, mentoring him from a child to his Academy Trials. Had she not fought the Abakan, she would have been James's master through his Journeyman trials. | |

| Z3-K3, or commonly referred to as "Zeke" was a droid that James built in the Academy's machine shop with the help of construction droids as a child. He is constructed of transparisteel and is equipped with an older Intellex IV computed and voice synthesizer, allowing him to speak. Zeke has developed a lot of quirks over the years due to James refusing to wipe his memory banks, but remains very loyal and faithful to James. James has upgraded Zeke throughout the years, making him one of the most versatile droids, intelligence wise. Not only is Zeke capable of slicing security systems and operating starships, he is capable of researching and developing as well as understanding literature and human interactions.

| Eiko Lanzer serves as the Quaestor of Independent House Revan. He and Callus Bo'Amar made up the House Summit at the time that James entered House Revan. After James proved himself to be a dedicated, hard worker and impressed Eiko, he was invited to be Eiko's apprentice. Eiko became his Master, following the footsteps that Eliza created. James has nothing but utter respect for his master and supports him however he can. But this does not necessarily mean that James has utter obedience to his Master. On the mission to the ancient Sith battleship, James jumped his way into the mission after being told by his Master to stay on board the Deep Ice.
