Dealing with the gang's muscle went as well as could be expected, thanks to the powers of his pawn. All seemed to finally go his way, until the mastermind behind the whole deal showed up--a powerful Force-wielder that quickly struck Cav down as he tried to escape. Wounded, he tried to get his protege to fight and save him, but the Enforcer sensed the youth's budding abilities and, realizing Veil was ultimately lacking in morality, made him a better offer. If he turned the relic and killed his "master", he could walk a new path--a path of power and prestige as a member of the [[Dark Brotherhood]]. '''Cav''' had taught Veil how to swindle, how to be greedy, and how to survive. Theirs was the path of least resistance, and so, his life came to an unceremonious end at the blade of the lackey he had taken advantage of for so long.

'''Cav''' was a tall, thickly built member of the [[starwars:Weequay|Weequay]] species in his mid-forties. Typical of his race, '''Cav''' had thick, leathery skin forming sharp ridges around his jaw. His golden eyes were sunken and beady, in a near-constant state of twitching from a lifetime spent constantly surveilling for enemies. Having balded prematurely, '''Cav''' sported a scant amount of hair growing from the back of his head that he kept in twin braids. He favored heavy, bounty-style armor for his day-to-day wear and rarely roamed without his heavy blaster slung over his shoulder.

"I'm-a show you the whole galaxy, kid. Ain't no one teach yuh better than me."
―Cav Vorka

Firmly routed in the Galaxy's underworld, Cav Vorka was a self-proclaimed bounty hunter, crimeboss, assassin, gambler, or smuggler, depending on who asked and what he was working on. Cav was a wannabe gangster, though never amounted to more than a two-bit scoundrel picking up whatever scraps he could find in a hopeless bid for quick fame and easy credits.

His luck took a turn for the better when he found a young, Force-sensitive child living in the slums of Ord Mantell. The boy had a budding gift for precognition and farsight, two skills Cav thought would be very useful in his lines of work. He offered to teach the boy how to survive the harshness of the Galaxy, and make a few credits on the side.

Character History

Early Life

Cav Vorka was born on the desert world of Sriluur. He grew up in the port city of Dnalvec where his parents worked as members of a local gang affiliated with the Hutt Cartel, acting as enforcers for one of the many underbosses ruling the streets. Cav learned from a young age how power ruled the streets and yearned to be more than a mere underling like his parents.

Rather than follow the family business, Cav stole credits from the gang, little bits at a time, until eventually his parents were targeted by the cartel for the thefts. The pair died while Cav made a quick exit offworld with his ill-gotten gains, leaving Sriluur for Ord Mantell. It was there he began gathering muscle to himself with the credits he'd stolen. Leading his own misfit gang, he attempted every venture he could think of to make it big--with little luck. It didn't take long for his stockpile to dwindle, and his men to viciously abandon him after giving him a good beating.

Finding himself without a credit to his name, Cav wandered the streets of Ord Mantell City where he came across a child using some mysterious powers to steal food from the stalls around the city. Cav was quite "wordly" by this time and recognized this mysterious power as the Force. During his travels, Cav had heard whispers about the abilities of Force users and realized he could make use of this lone child to further his ambitions.

With a Force-sensitive lackey at his beck and call, Cav quickly bailed on Ord Mantell for greener pastures. To expand his little operation, he first set his sights on the high-stakes gamblers on Nar Shaddaa. After teaching the boy the basics of Pazaak, they engineered a subtle series of signs to signal Cav about when to fold and when to bet aggressively. This was a lucrative scam for a while, but Cav had no understanding of the word "moderation", and the pair were soon forced to abandon the casinos when some of their well-off marks gathered their personal soldiers and ambushed them.
