| The Vibre-class assault cruiser is a very specialized ship, used exclusively for boarding other vessels. Like Silviut's shuttle design, the Svelte-class, the Vibre-class is small and vaguely beetle-shaped.

| Following the destruction of the Imperial Death Star, Imperial commerce raiders and privateers had become as big a problem for the "New Republic" as Rebel privateers and starfighter raids had been for the Galactic Empire. One of the most effective ships used by Imperial forces in this period was the Vibre-class Assault Cruiser, designed specifically for privateering.

| The Turmoil typically uses its stealth equipment to sneak within striking range of larger capital ships, then opens fire with ion cannons and uses its armament to open a hole into the enemy ship. The squadron of Spacetroopers is then disgorged into the enemyship, either to take over the ship or unload its cargo, depending on its mission. Should the mission be a seek and destroy one, there is no reason to open just one hole and the Turmoil will open fire until there is nothing left of its target before leaving the scene.

| === Characteristics ===
| |
| The ship and all of its hull is covered in grey from the moment it was built and transported to the Clan. The ship has a large, curved spine stretching from the point of the ship, and thickening as it travels towards the back. The ‘disc-like’ areas to the sides of the spine are what makes this ship different. The crew use this peculiar body to clamp onto a larger ship and stay there. The ship boasts a large and circular engine rather than the typical miniature and clustered engines on other imperial designs. The front of the Turmoil holds the command centre where the commanding officers and the navigational officers reside. The belly of the ship is mostly covered with pockets and flaps in an effort to disguise the tools used in ripping apart ship hull.

| |
| As well as holding a large array of tools designed to rip apart metal and glass, the Turmoil holds a vast system of equipment. The scanning and communication systems can detect a ship from long range and it’s class with the sensors. The Turmoil holds four heavy ion cannons, two at the front and one at each side in order to avoid being flanked and to lay heavy fire on their target ship. The 2 light turbolasers are also located at the front in an effort to overpower the heavily built and larger ships that the Turmoil normally targets. Once close enough to their target, the Turmoil holds two tractor beams to each side of the ship. The tractor beams are also used to carry cargo on rare occasions.

| The Hyperdrive of this ship is the fastest that is available in mass production, however, if damaged then the ship resorts to a slower but still effective hyperspeed. The Sensor Mask is a device added to the assault cruiser, making it more difficult for other cruisers to detect the Turmoil. This device is useful for sneaking up on ships, or for hit and run tactics.

| === Role in the Warhost ===
| |
| Historically, the Turmoil has been used in a variety of ways by Naga Sadow. It has always served as an assault ship, and been used for privateering actions at the behest of the clan's Houses, as well as for policing and interdiction. Currently, the Turmoil continues it's policing role while in system. It's speed, boarding equipment, and ion cannons make it excellent for disabling and boarding suspicious craft. When away from the Orian System, the Turmoil is most commonly used in conjunction with other ships to intercept convoys and freighters. Its ion cannons and stealth capabilities make it a useful asset in Warhost operations.

| One account states that the VAC Turmoil was constructed in 8 ABY in orbit over Kuat, shortly after the successful maiden voyage of the Vibre-class assault cruiser prototype. It's construction was ordered by the Imperial Remnant. After its shakedown cruise it was turned over to members of the Emperor's Hammer. To be more successful in privateering the crew consisted of Force users and non-Force users alike, courtesy of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood and the Emperor's Hammer respectively. | Other accounts show the ship's acquisition to be later, shortly before the Brotherhood's battle with the Yuuzhan Vong. Many records were lost in the desperate engagements of the time. Whatever the case, the Turmoil emerged as an integral part of the Dlarit Special Operations Division Navy, where it served in many of the same roles as it did during the time of the Warhost.
