Zakai Biask is the only child of Vodo Biask Taldrya and Zasati Tryezsh, making him half-Twi'lek on his Father's side and half-Hapan on his Mother's side. Zakai was born in secret after his Mother fled her abusive and manipulative partner and raised him by herself for his first ten years on various planets. Zasati worked as a high end companion and courtesan until the boy's existence was inadvertently revealed to Vodo. The Sith Warlord claimed the boy from his Mother and trained him for the next six years as his Apprentice, alternately instructing and nearly abusing his son. Upon his Father's death Zakai was made a Ward of Clan Taldryan until such time as he reached majority age but a lack of supervision meant he was largely left to his own devices, which he preferred to spend with his romantic interest Dasha 'Jala' Talus until he submitted himself to Shanree Argentin as his apprentice.

An intelligent young man, Zakai is interested in machinery and computers and loves making things then programming them to work. His skill, fostered by friend of his Mother Jasper Arlow, is impressive. He often spends time fixing his Master's ship as the older man lacks much interest or skill in such endeavors.
