Vosen Argen Anasaye is the youngest child of Empress Kaltani Anasaye and her late husband Argen Anasaye, the younger brother of Anaya Anasaye. He is currently the second-in-line for the throne of the Vatali Empire. A tried-and-true military man, Vosen, or as he prefers to be called, Argen, takes the mantle of responsibility his father passed down and views the world through a lens of actionable worth, rather than inherent worth.
Character History
Early Life
Born into a life of ease and expectations, Vosen was raised with the suppositions of a spare noble heir. He would assume the throne if his sister, Anaya failed, and preserve the status quo as a good son and worthy heir of his name. The world would make these expectations difficult to live up to as he grew, however. Inheriting a wide rebellious streak from both of his parents, he grew to resent his place as the spare heir, acting out every chance he got. His one true weakness in youth was his father, with whom he had grown a close bond over their place outside of general politics.
A Political Target
Removed from the Spotlight
Between his rebellious streak and his own disposition towards privacy, Vosen chose to remain a private citizen as often as was possible. A choice his father indulged, excluding him from matters of state, opting to have his own assistant fill the boy's place where possible. This only furthered the media's speculation and insistence to find the boy in his youth, and made both father and son redouble their efforts to sequester him from the spotlight.
Vatali Unsettled
The Quorahi rebellion and the subsequent attempt on the Empress' family were the first tastes of conflict Vosen experienced. Terrin Arcturus led an offensive against the Empire, breaching the palace and killing one of his mother's advisors, Teron Dest, with the Force before he ordered his troops to hunt for the Empress. Vosen witnessed as Arcturus murdered his father, despite Argen's futile attempts to kill him with a telekinetic assault using The Force. Young Vosen was taken hostage following his father's death, and saw the capital burning.
Rescued by the actions of the Odanites, Vosen was grateful, but blamed the enemies they brought to the system for his father's death. A grudge the boy would never surrender.
Joining the O.U.S.C.
Following his father's death and his inability to protect himself, Vosen would later join the Vatali Central Military before, it was conjoined with the Odan-Urr United Space Command. He would later enroll in the Odan-Urr Space Command Academy, spending his later years in the Officers Training Corps before exiting with a Commission as a member of the O.U.S.C. Naval Forces, assigned to the First Fleet. He swore that while he had been unable to protect himself in his youth, he would spend his adulthood protecting his homeworld.
