Wiki Staff/Shad -- on going wiki-page that will be added to over the next few weeks. Primary purpose is to serve as a hub for the competition, instead of just having things in e-mail or an off-site website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by User:Marick
- Wally, I'm sure you've heard this before, but the wiki is not meant to be a competition website replacement. What you should use the wiki for is for a fictional, historical account of the event like any other event pages (see GJWs or RoSs for an example). Given that the DB site itself now properly tracks competitions and the rest of what you have is just fictional updates, I would suggest making use of the new Discourse forums to post your plot updates to keep a proper record and simply link to the competition details page. --Shadow Taldrya (talk) 15:12, 15 August 2014 (EDT)
When I set up a similar operation for Operation: Sojourn, I talked with Ben about doing it this way, and he seemed ok with it. I was never told that there was anything wrong with that.
If that is how you guys want, I'll put the plot updates on Discourse (we didn't have it last time, but I see how it could be used better for this type of purpose), but I still think having links to the competition's on the wiki is appropriate, as if you were checking the historical aspect of the event, it would be nice to be able to click on the comps and see the entries therein? —Preceding unsigned comment added by User:Marick
- Eh, you're referring to sourcing/referencing information? That's fine... easy enough to add references to a wiki page and then a section at the bottom for sources. For an example of how to do so, Windos' page uses references Solari#Notes_and_references. That's also how we're starting to do all the DB history pages/vendetta pages, so we can keep proper track of events and competitions. --Shadow Taldrya (talk) 00:41, 21 August 2014 (EDT)
