Birth and Homeworld
The birth of a Heragan is a monumental event. It is something that happens only once every few centuries. But on the Outer Rim world of Deralia, there happens to exist the necessary foods to supply the Heragan reproductive system and so in 4930 Before the Battle of Yavin, one of the ageless race was born.
Tragedy greeted this young child into this world, as the men whom his father worked for, performed horrible experiments on the child, injecting him with energies and foreign cells to try to enhance his abilities. They did this in the name of science and to produce the greatest assassin the world had ever seen. Sephiroth's father was one of the assassins working for these men, the leader of whom was Hojo Curido, and from a very young age he taught the young man the arts of killing and subtlety.
As most Heragan are Force sensitive, including Sephiroth's father, he began to show Sephiroth that he possessed powers over normal men. Things like mind control, seeing into the immediate future, and great reflexes and strength. And it was shown that the terrible experiments performed on the child did indeed enhance these abilities.
Deralia was a primitive world at the time of Sephiroth's birth. They did not yet possess hyperspace technology, but they were visited from time to time by "outsiders". The Heraga had come there, on occasion, and mingled with the people there. Interbreeding occurred and the Human populace of Deralia began to have longer lives, the average lifespan increasing to 140 years.
Early life
From a very young age, Sephiroth's father taught him what he knew of the Force. Since he was an assassin, a master of death, what he knew was of the Dark Side. Yet he taught it to his astute son, hoping to make him the best Assassin in the history of Deralia.
Sephiroth killed his first target when he was 13, very young for a Heragan. And by the time he reached his 100 birthday, it was rumored he was responsible for hundreds of deaths. Yet keeping to his father's code of honor, he never killed an innocent child or woman. Only the unjust or those who had committed atrocities befitting death, would he kill.
When he reached the age of 2300, he learned of the horrible experiments that had been performed on him. In an outrage, he began to slaughter innocent people. He went into a bloodthirst, in which he killed his mother and sister. His father, feeling responsible for the things done to his son, committed suicide. The scientist who had performed the experiments fled the planet, in fear for his life. To this day Sephiroth searches for Hojo Curido, to deal him his justice.
Post Tragedy
After the horrible events mentioned above, Sephiroth went into a hibernation state of meditation. One that lasted nearly 700 years. It is not unusual for a Heragan to do this, as they are ageless creatures. In his trance, he began to separate himself from the rest of the life on the small planet, isolating himself in the Force, growing stronger in the Dark Side. He blamed himself heavily for what he had done, and guilt has always been deep in his heart, yet few could tell. Another trait of the Heraga are their emotionless features. They show no emotion and many times have none. So when they do feel emotion, they feel it strongly.
Wandering Years
As events transpired in the galaxy, Sephiroth roamed the nearby systems in the Unknown Regions, becoming insane and detached from society and life itself, which pushed him further the dark side. At many times, he would become the Grand Vizier of some world's ruler, orchestrating things as he saw fit. He played the part of puppet-master, ruling behind the scenes. Although never officially honing his dark side powers, he always kewpt them as sharp as his untrained mind could. He grew wise over his long years, learning much and beginning to feel much less. He loved many women but they were not immortal and therefore fell to the weaknesses of mortal kind, such as plague and other forms of death. It was not until recently that he found another Heragan, a beautiful princess of a remote system in the Unknown Regions that was worshipped as a goddess by her subjects because she never aged.
