The Scicis is a gold inlaid dagger Bladed Weapon discovered by Thran Palpatine possessing a tri-pointed guard roughly in the shape of an ancient Sith symbol, with a leather wrapped handle resting above a glowing gem pommel. The gem appears blood stained, but no attempt to remove the blemishes has been successful. It encourages bloodlust in those who possess it, with users feeling a deep compelling desire to see the gem in the pommel turn red. The blade on this dagger never dulls through the intricate use of an ancient Alchemy ritual. The Scicis is granted by the Consul on a rotating basis to those who achieve greatness within the Grand Master's Royal Guard.
Appearance
Scicis is a masterly crafted Blade, despite not being particularly ornate. Unlike other Sith Daggers, Scicis is not inscribed with any linguistic markers, making its origins difficult to ascertain.
The narrow stiletto is tapered along its length and comes to an extraordinarily sharp point. The transition between edge and blade bevel is nearly seamless. The dagger has a slight convex grind. Notably, the edge will never dull and sharpening is not required.
The blade itself is inlaid with a gold-like metal. The guard of the blade has five distinct points. The hilt of Scicis is wrapped in an unknown alloy. Flecks of the same gold-like metal found on the blade and guard can be found in the hilt wrapping.
One of Scicis’ most notable features is the gemstone in its pommel. The faceted stone is solid, but due to the continually morphing coloration, it can appear as though the core is liquid. The stone itself has a deep rich turquoise color. Within the stone, wispy clouds of blood red whirl throughout it. When Scicis has recently drawn blood, more of the stone takes on this deep red coloration.
Function
Given the shape of the blade, it is speculated that Scicis served as an assassin’s weapon. Little is known about its origins and original purpose.
One of the most interesting aspects of Scicis is the impact that it has on those who hold it. Scicis is said to speak to those who hold the blade. Those who have held it compare the voice to a whisper. Many have claimed that the blade speaks to them, in their native tongue, demanding blood.
History
In 40 ABY, then Consul of Clan Scholae Palatinae, Kamjin issued an order to the Clan to search out a list of known artifacts. Many members of the Clan went on these quests and few were successful. Of Kamjin’s list of artifacts , Thran Occasus was tasked with retrieving an Ancient Sith frieze. Of no surprise to the Consul, the frieze was never retrieved. However, Thran returned to the Clan with Scicis in hand.
Since its retrieval, no information has been revealed about its origins or even where it was found.
