Personality and Hobbies
Pyrinan’s demeanor can only be described as “inky.” He is a character that cannot be trusted and expects no one to trust him. Very little is actually known about him as when he is not flying with his squadron or performing some secret - and off the books - assignment for the Tarentum navy he can never be found; often off fulfilling some personal agenda.
He has none of the hive mentality of his fellow Kubaz, owing to the fact that he was born away from a colony and abandoned at birth. He does however, maintain an inability to see insectoids as anything but food. He has been known to miss employment opportunities when the employer was of an insectoid species and he found himself only masticating at their initial meeting.
Appearance
Pyrinan, like all Kubaz, has a long insect-devouring snout. Bristles grow from his head which are longer than average and are dead straight. His eyes are almost never seen as they are extremely sensitive to all light but that from specific blue suns and he must keep them covered by special dark goggles most of the time.
He often dresses in dark clothes that he can use to conceal himself, usually with a large hood to cast shadows over his face. He is nimble, yet strong and stands at roughly the average height for his species.
History
The Early Years
Pyrinan was born on Nar Shaddaa, his parents leaving him at the nearest health clinic. He was raised as a ward of the state, shuffling between living in foster homes and the streets. The streets are where he first began to develop the skills he would use for the majority of his life; spying, languages and slicing.
He was regularly in trouble with the lackluster law enforcement on the moon but was for ever evading conviction. His later teen years saw him pick up a number of jobs slicing into peoples housing and looting anything of value.
Espionage
His slicing skills soon became world class and Pyrinan found himself in high demand. Eventually his employers elevated from street scum and disgruntled employees and spouses to governments and corporations. He became a source of information for anyone with enough credits to purchase them.
Irritated victims regularly took out bounties on the Kubaz’s head, but the sums were never enough to temp a hunter into silencing their primary source of intelligence.
Life was sweet for Pyrinan, credits flowed bountifully (though he kept an external appearance of a scarcity)
Yridia IX and the Tarentum Navy
His work eventually took Pyrinan to Yridia IX where he decided to set up shop for a time, assuming that new cliental, and word of his skill, could generate a sizable income. The attention he received however was not what he expected.
He was approached by the Tarentum Navy and offered, what the recruiter said with a sly smile, a respectable job. After much deliberation, plenty of alcohol and a sizable bribe Pyrinan accepted an honorary commission and placement in Rapax Squadron as their communications and slicing specialist and, when need be, the navy’s go to man for less than official assignments.
