Early Life
Lizair was born in Estle City, the youngest of four siblings. The Skirota family was a family with a long military history, and Lizair had come from the Emperor’s Hammer fleet. His father had been in the Emperor’s Hammer, but had searched for a new home for his family, finding it on Selen. All four of his sons would grow up to join the military as well.
Lizair attended an officer’s academy on Selen when he turned 26, in an academy with students of all ages, and attended for three years learning to become an officer in the Palace Guard. His mother insisted he enter the Guard, because she wanted to keep one of her sons close to home.
Joining the 3rd Tactical
Lizair Skirota was commissioned as an Assistant Brigade Commander in the 3rd Tactical Assault Marines Brigade. He served under his eldest brother, Fiereal Skirota, who was commanding the 3rd Tactical. Lizair served loyally, and when his brother was sent off to become commander of Division III, Lizair became Brigade Commander of the 3rd in 23 ABY.
For the next four years, Lizair was leading the TAMs of the 3rd in cohesion with the elderly Division Commander, sixty year old Rokline Absdar. He attracted Absdar’s notice, and was taken under the old man’s wing. Meanwhile, Skirota Sr. retired from his position as commander of the ‘’’Eye of the Abyss’’’ troops, just before the Yuuzhan Vong Incursion.
Ascension to Division I Commander
When the Yuuzhan Vong invaders entered the Dajorra System, the Defense Fleet was forced to try to repel them. The enemy was too strong, however, and the Division Commander Absdar was killed in the early fighting. The Consul personally promoted Lizair to Division Commander, to fight the Yuuzhan Vong.
The Yuuzhan Vong onslaught proved too much for the Selen Ground Forces, and most of the soldiers managed to evacuate and join the Fleet to become nomadic, wandering the galaxy in search of a new home.
Personality
Lizair is a jovial commander, kind and compassionate with his men. However, he is sometimes too soft when discipling them, and has run into problems with that in the past. But he works very well, and possesses his father’s military mind.
