The Draugr is one of the deadliest of risen corpses. Of the corporeal undead, it is the one that requires the body and corrupted soul of a Force User. How strong the Force User was in life matters little. What does matter is the strength of will of the Necromancers used to craft and raise this hellish warrior.

Possessing super-Human speed, strength, and agility, the Draugr is a near juggernaut on the battlefield. And they learn. While newly risen Draugr are terrors, given time and training, they can become elite warriors, serving their creator as nearly unstoppable weapons.

The Draugr are corpses, and so their creators must take care to ensure that they do not give themselves away. Normally swathed head to toe in heavy robes or the skintight bodysuits that thieves favor, usually only their eyes are visible. And these eyes tend to give them away, as they never blink – starting out red and bloodshot, and finally becoming a jaundiced yellow.

Draugr do not normally speak, but will answer questions from their creator in a direct fashion. Normally this is not necessary, as their Creator can communicate telepathically with the Draugr.

Creation

In order to create a Draugr the fresh corpse of a Force User must be defiled in some gruesome manner. Although a single Elder can perform the ritual by himself, normally a second Necromancer is needed of the opposing Path, a Watcher to defile the soul and bind it to the body, and a Death Dealer to defile the body. Alternately three Equites working in tandem can craft a Draugr – one to defile the soul, one to defile the body and one to bind the soul to the body.

Notes on Creation: Any corpse is suitable to become a Draugr; however, the corpses best suited are those as similar to the creator's physiology and psyche as possible. Furthermore, in the case of an Elder crafting, the second Necromancer need only be of the Equite class. Two Elders crafting and training a Draugr results in the creation of a beast as powerful as the one loosed upon The Sword's Sheath several years ago. Such raisings are currently restricted by the Clan Summit to the Tarentae.
