The Ice Colossus of Caina is one of the powerful monsters left behind in the Cocytus System by the Infinite Empire. A hulking mass of strength within is brittle icy body, it was awoken by Pacre Datship leader, Emperor Vanis, in 39 ABY. Following its apparent destruction, Imperial Scientists began to analyse the data they gathered on the beast. It was given the scientific name of Colossium Archangelium, named after the fierce Archangel for his incredible efforts during the Monstrosity event.
History
Sometime around 30,000 BBY, at the height of the Infinite Empire, many of their best scientists took up residence within the Cocytus System, turning it into a multi-planet laboratory to study the mysteries of life itself.
On the ice work of Caina, this resulted in a giant colossus of frozen might. There are stories among the native population of the planet, as descendants of the slaves who once worked on the planet under the rule of the Infinite Empire, about a creature who towered over all, slow and lumbering. These stories were taken as legend until 39 ABY, when the colossus was woken from its slumber beneath the ice.
It was melted following a prototype incendiary bomb developed by Dr. Elincia Rei. Locals on Caina have reported hearing creaking noises similar to the noises of the colossus from deep in the planet's ice.
Description and Abilities
The Ice Colossus of Caina stands at 260 ft tall and weighs in at an estimated 3,000 tons. Ice covers its body from head to toe, much like historical plate armor. It’s long forearms nearly drag against the ground, while its ice plating shoot off from the elbows in large jagged spikes. Hunched back, its head is always peering toward the ground, taking in all before it. It is a slow moving monster, whose each step thuds across the planes of Caina.
While slow, it is incredibly strong. Its thick ice plating is strong, but brittle. It is capable of manipulating the ice of the planet to its will, both to replenish its cracking armor, and as a weapon from the earth itself.
