General Vessel Information
The Starwind-class pleasure yacht was a luxury starship produced by Kuat Drive Yards. It was originally intended to compete with CEC's YT series, which it bore a slight resemblance to, especially in the cockpit. Before the design was completed, it was repackaged as a yacht for wealthy customers. Overall, the 50 meter long ship had a flattened ovoid shape. It had a cargo capacity of 200 tons, and was configured to mount a pair of quad laser cannons, though the cannons were not included as standard. The Starwind-class yacht was also equipped with a single escape pod, which was based on the Star Galleon-class frigate's main cargo bay. Unlike other escape pods, it was equipped with its own hyperdrive, and was programmed to make random jumps until reaching the nearest habitable planet or major spacelane, where the ship's crew and passengers could be rescued.
History
The Solace was found adrift on the edge of the Aranna system. Ship’s logs indicated that the yacht suffered critical engine failure after entering hyperspace, leaving it some twenty years from the nearest inhabited system. Unable to make repairs themselves, the crew activated an emergency beacon, and its passengers entered cryogenic sleep in a successful effort to endure the voyage. They awoke in shackles.
It was a foregone conclusion that the interlopers could never be allowed to escape and report Satal Keto’s presence to the New Republic. The passengers, possessing few technical skills, were simply executed or forced into a life of labour. The crew underwent reeducation, and being allowed to keep their post, came to serve those Dark Jedi who pursue their business in comfort. The ship became part of the Plagueian Navy with the merger.
Like the Pacifica it has been loaned to the resort on Nintura as a sightseeing ship, it is also available to all Summits and members of the Council of the Wise when needed.
Equipped with the standard armament of 2 quad laser cannons.
