The Serpent's Fangs are a very small and select group of people who function as a sub group of the Order of the Serpent. Their primary service is to the Quaestor, and to a lesser degree, the Aedile of House Caliburnus. The Serpent’s Fangs are charged with being the Quaestor’s inner circle, trusted and experienced advisors who offer their assistance to the House Summit in any way they can.

As a group, they seldom number more than six individuals. They have on several occasions also been called upon as special assassins working for the Quaestor to deal with problems that require more delicate handling than the full force of the Souls of Darkness.

When a member is named as a Fang, they are presented with a specially commissioned dagger. After a time of particularly dedicated work or in reward of a single spectacular act of service to the Quaestor and House, a Fang may be presented with a dagger which has the addition of a gold serpent upon its hilt as a mark of their distinguished service.

As is true of the Order of the Serpent itself, if a member is named a Serpent’s Fang, and then leaves the House, they are stripped of their position and their dagger unless the Quaestor specifically allows otherwise.
