Character History
A Shadow Cast
Many years ago, before the fall of the Republic, a young Jedi knight was sent on a diplomatic mission to the farthest reaches of the known galaxy. An outpost in the forest of a small moon was her destination. Little did this Jedi know, but her life would be forever changed due to her time on this moon.
During a fight with a small force of natives, the knight was injured and knocked unconscious. Upon waking, she found herself in the care of a young soldier. He had found, protected and cared for her until she had woken.The duo spent much time together and after awhile, grew fond of each other. It wasn't long before the Jedi was with child and the couple couldn't be happier. They spent all of their time together on the small moon, the soldier would go out hunting during the day and then return to spend every evening with his beloved.
Not long after, the two held an inpromptu wedding and became husband and wife. The ceremony was a simple one but the snow falling soflty made it ever so much sweeter.
The child was born shortly after the wedding and the trio lived happily for many lunar cycles. One morning as the soldier was out hunting for food, the Jedi and her child were set upon by wild natives. The young woman easily defended herself and her son but once the boys father returned home, he was shocked by the natives agression. In response he packed up their belongings and the family chartered a ship for Coruscant. Even though the Jedi had broken the the Jedi code and left the order, she made no objections.
On route to the ship, the group was attacked by another gathering of natives. This time, the natives seemed more collected, as if led by someone. Sadly, the mother and father fell to the blades of the beasts, but the child was spared. A figure cloaked in darkness strode forth from the crowd of natives and took the child before anything could happen to him. The figure then walked off into the forest, leaving the bodies of the boys parents lying broken in the leaves of the planet.
The Forest of Darkness
Many years would pass after the death of the young boys parents without the child ever knowing. He would train under the darkly cloaked figure until nearly his tenth year of life. The boy was trained in the arts of stealth and blade. His mornings were quick and his nights were long but upon his tenth "birthday" he was greeted by his protector with a gift. An antique blue bladed lightsaber.
With questioning eyes, the boy activated the blade and took a few practice swings. He seemed to be a natural at wielding the ancient weapon. It took a few moments, but after swinging the blade for what seemed like an eternity, the boy became overwhelmed with feelings of sorrow.
Turning to the cloaked figure, his eyes filled with tears, he questioned the being. The figure then sat and told the child a tale of darkness. Of how the native beasts of the moon had killed the boys parents violently and without remorse. Sorrow turned to anger within the boy and he asked where these creatures were. Although the figure had never once removed it's cloak, the boy could have sworn it smiled. Without a question, the protector of the child told him of their exact location within the forest.
A flurry of cloak and blade was seen as th boy swiftly departed into the night. A storm rain and lightning filled the air as the boy charged forth towards the creatures that had murdered his parents. The entire way there, he felt as if someone was beside him, begging him to turn from his course. He brushed the feeling aside and let his anger build ever stronger, until was before the sleeping village.
Soaking cloak clinging to his form, he strode quietly into the camp. As a shadow, the child silenced each and every inhabitant of the village with the blue blade of the lightsaber. His final victim, was awake as he strode into his tent. Without a single word, the boy plunged the blade deep into the mans chest. A soft but sad smile crossed the mans face, and two simple words escaped him with his last breath,...."My son".
It took but a moment for the words to sink into the boys mind. In complete and utter despair, the boy dropped the saber to the ground. He had killed his father. He did not question how he knew, but he did. Deep within himself, he felt the loss.
He stood there, staring at the lifeless corpse of the man who had protected his infant son from the wilds so many times before. A mix of feelings filled the young boy. Anguish, anger, confusion, and despair swirled within him. After a time, the boy reached down and picked up the blade he had just used to murder his own father, and without a word he strode from the tent out into the stormy dark night.
