==History==
===Creation---
When the Jedi Order was still naive enough to believe that banishment would
be enough, they exiled many Dark Jedi from their midst after the end of the
Hundred Years of Darkness. One of those Lords of Darkness, Darth Kain, took
with him some songsteel from one of the asteroids that he had used to hide
among during the time when Jedi hunted him. He also took with him an adegan
shard from the focusing crystal of his Master, Trellick Lobos. After
discovering the ancient and hidden people of the Sith, he focused his time
and efforts to forge a focus for his hatred and anger that would help him
drive these people to war.
In time, he succeeded, creating a pendant that was all but indestructible,
encased in a material that was as resistant and nigh indestructible as
cortosis, and yet was light and shined like water in the moonlight. The
blackened adegan shard, damaged in the destruction of Trellick’s lightsaber
at Kain’s hands, sat encased at the heart of the pendant seemed to always
glow with power, and would resonate to those of great enough Force
sensitivity. When a Dark Master focused on the Portal of Passion, as it was
called, he or she could generate intense feelings of anger, hatred, and
loathing in those exposed to it, directing those feelings to a particular
purpose. It could be used to target people, places, or even things.
===Vanish and Eventual Resurface
This piece of ancient history vanished during the Great hyperspace war after
one of the disciples of Naga Sadow was consumed during the battle of
Coruscant. It surfaced again much, much later under the name Soul of Solace,
twisted to work for the Jedi during the Great Sith War. It was used to great
success against the Forces of Exar Kun, until he slew its user shortly
before his own death, at which time it vanished again. It has recently been
found in the vaults of the Jedi Library, in Menat Ombo, on New Tython.
==Powers==
An ancient adegan shard embedded in songsteel, this piece of history serves
one purpose, peace. When used by a Jedi Master, this shard of power
generates a soothing aura of peace that negates violent instinct and forces
those exposed into civil discourse and actions. The powerful Force energies
strip away the ability of the exposed to behave in any violent, angry, or
less than peaceful manner. It has been used to force the surrender of
countless planets that refused to lay down their arms, by disarming them of
the ability to resist.
===Darker Side===
Like all Jedi artifacts though, it has a darker side to it as well. It saps
the energy of the user, and prolonged use can cause comas and death. It is
to be used sparingly and carefully, for only those of truly empowered
strength in the Force will be able to resist its effects long enough to use
it to any purpose. This cost belies the true nature of the artifact, as it,
like many artifacts belonging to the Jedi, has an older, darker past.
However, as noted earlier, this took an intensive amount of energy, and
could kill the user if they weren’t careful to limit the use and duration of
it. Each successive use always further endangered the user as the Portal
took more energy to use each time a person attempted to wield it.

History

===Creation---

When the Jedi Order was still naive enough to believe that banishment would be enough, they exiled many Dark Jedi from their midst after the end of the Hundred Years of Darkness. One of those Lords of Darkness, Darth Kain, took with him some songsteel from one of the asteroids that he had used to hide among during the time when Jedi hunted him. After discovering the ancient and hidden people of the Sith, he focused his time and efforts to forge a focus for his hatred and anger that would help him drive these people to war.

The blackened adegan shard, damaged in the destruction of Trellick’s lightsaber at Kain’s hands, sat encased at the heart of the pendant seemed to always glow with power, and would resonate to those of great enough Force sensitivity. When a Dark Master focused on the Portal of Passion, as it was called, he or she could generate intense feelings of anger, hatred, and loathing in those exposed to it, directing those feelings to a particular purpose. It could be used to target people, places, or even things.

===Vanish and Eventual Resurface This piece of ancient history vanished during the Great hyperspace war after one of the disciples of Naga Sadow was consumed during the battle of Coruscant. It surfaced again much, much later under the name Soul of Solace, twisted to work for the Jedi during the Great Sith War. It was used to great success against the Forces of Exar Kun, until he slew its user shortly before his own death, at which time it vanished again. It has recently been found in the vaults of the Jedi Library, in Menat Ombo, on New Tython.

Powers

An ancient adegan shard embedded in songsteel, this piece of history serves one purpose, peace. When used by a Jedi Master, this shard of power generates a soothing aura of peace that negates violent instinct and forces those exposed into civil discourse and actions. The powerful Force energies strip away the ability of the exposed to behave in any violent, angry, or less than peaceful manner. It has been used to force the surrender of countless planets that refused to lay down their arms, by disarming them of the ability to resist.

Darker Side

Like all Jedi artifacts though, it has a darker side to it as well. It saps the energy of the user, and prolonged use can cause comas and death. It is to be used sparingly and carefully, for only those of truly empowered strength in the Force will be able to resist its effects long enough to use it to any purpose. This cost belies the true nature of the artifact, as it, like many artifacts belonging to the Jedi, has an older, darker past.

However, as noted earlier, this took an intensive amount of energy, and could kill the user if they weren’t careful to limit the use and duration of it. Each successive use always further endangered the user as the Portal took more energy to use each time a person attempted to wield it.
