The Orian Frequency is a pirate broadcast station located at an unknown location in the Orian System. Run from a cramped, noisy studio in the system. The Host of the show, an individual who has referred to themselves only as "Chelch", does not appear to any particular political ideology, balking against any authority. The program, having started in 37 ABY, has actively snarked against the Collective peacekeeping forces in the system.

Some officials have even accused the station of inciting unnecessary rebellion within the system.

When this was brought to the host's attention, he chuckled.

The Program

Presentation

The earliest programs of the Orian Frequency were little more than simple opinion pieces on local politics or economics. The host was a slightly flat, and unenthusiastic broadcaster at first. It wasn't until the Collective started to enforce additional laws and structure down upon the populace that the program began to take a turn. The host, once bored, appeared to take some enjoyment out of the idea of stirring up trouble with the government. The Host and his staff worked to counteract the Collective's propaganda, and some even accused his people of leaking information to individuals who would pass the intelligence along to the wandering Sadowan fleet.

Format

The typical format of an Orian Frequency is not uniform, but it can be guaranteed to include at least a few simple elements. For one, the local news and gossip are typically reviewed by the Host. If you didn't hear it on the Orian Frequency, chances are it isn't worth knowing. A review of any military operations the Host just might have noticed will also be shared with the listening public. The rest may cover a variety of subjects, covering known DJB inter-Clan drama, celebrity dating, Life Day recipes, the winning lottery numbers for the evening, the losing lottery numbers for the evening, sports scores, local history, galactic history, obscure history, legends, tales, folklore or even just plain old opinion pieces on subjects both great and small.

The HIstory of the Frequency

37 ABY; The Collective Take Root in Orian

Of course, the Host refuses to even acknowledge the possibility. He did caution his law enforcement interrogators that such an action would be terribly illegal, before refusing to cooperate without a legally issued warrant. The Host was not taken into police custody, but instead was detained until such time as a second officer could be sent to fetch the malcontent. This detainment was cut short when an explosion rocked the Seng_Karash#The Commercial and Leisure District|commercial district]] where the studio was located. The studio where the Host was being held collapsed in on itself. When the rubble was sorted through, the injured officer was found, but the Host's body was never retrieved. retireve

38 ABY, Pirate Broadcasts Begin

The death of the broadcast was like honey to the politicians who had seized upon the Collective occupation as a path to power. Some, the host mused, had likely taken untold mirth in knowing that they had silenced the Host. The Host had other plans. When the time came to die, the Host simply took his leave of the place. Death was not to be argued with, but death was to be bargained with. After all, the Host figured, what is a couple decades or torment for a chance to stick it to the wicked?

Rumors abounded when the next iteration of the Orian Frequency came to light. Unlike the publicly accessible station used before, the earliest of the second studios was set upon an old, unmarked freighter. The presence of the Host was not enjoyable for the Collective masters, however. Though the majority of the Collective naval assets parked in the Orian system were pulled off to other positions or maneuvers, those who remained sought the end of the Frequency. It was a moment for the Host and his merry crew to hide away in the darkest recesses of the system. For that matter, the Host and his fellows had quite the laugh when they claimed to transmit by bouncing signals from Gamuslag and the Collective peacekeepers sent their own men to apprehend the Host.

This caused the Host to chuckle.

The New Orian Frequency Lives

Hidden away where the Collective will not find him, your oh-so-kind Host has been keeping abreast of all the happenings throughout our wonderful system. And see, the Host has also been using the Holonet transmitters to boost his own signal. This means that your kind Host has eyes throughout the system, throughout the sector and throughout the stars. The Host may or may not also possess some slicing skills of repute which make the job of spreading his message through the galaxy like a virus that much easier.

But who knows, dear listener? Though, you can be certain of one thing. You heard it first, on the Orian Frequency.
