"In darkness one may be ashamed of what one does, without the shame of disgrace" - Aegis Maw, when asked of his past and purpose in the Dark Brotherhood.
Aegis Maw is a Rattataki Dark Jedi and a member of the Obelisk Order. Young and maladjusted, he relishes battle, having been born into a warrior society. While typically brooding and choleric, he does possess a softer side, any manifestation of which seems to bring him only trouble. Thus, he resigns himself to silence, concentrating on honing his arts and proficiency in the Force.
Aegis currently trains beneath the tutelage of Dark Jedi Knight Dralin Fortea.

Character History
"I am fear. I am the queen of a blood-soaked planet and an architect of genocide." - the words of Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress, referring to Rattatak and her time on it.
Aegis Maw was born to the red crags of the arid Outer Rim planet Rattatak, it's civilizations hewn into the mountainous terrain. Virtually isolated from the rest of the galaxy for most of it's history, the Rattataki developed a violent warrior society, perpetually
engaged in sequences of traditional, as well as commercial, gladiatorial combat.
From an early age, Aegis took to this example, prone to bickering with his sister and acting somewhat as a local bully. As he got older, he was even known to seek out and kill the hatchlings of muscle maggots, a species native to Rattatak that, when fully grown, were quite threatening. Though he was hardly dangerous, such behavior was much to the chagrin of his mother, who had a difficult time raising both Aegis and his sister Marjaa all by herself.
