Character History

Early Life

Keirdagh Bernix (later Cantor) was born on Centrepoint Station in the Corellian System into a middle class family. His father, Conall Bernix was a highly skilled computer consultant, who had been contracted to attempt to bring Centrepoint's systems more in line with the Imperial systems at the time. Upon the completion of his contract, Conall brought his family back to the planet Corellia, and they lived in the suburban areas surrounding Coronet City. Due to his father's financial means, Keirdagh was able to live in comfort, and recieve private education at one of Coronet's many prestigious schools for the young.
Keirdagh's primary throughout his schooling was history, specifically conflict studies. He relished the chance to research and investigate the causes, and tactics that were utilized in the battles that had shaped the Universe. He was even offered a scholarship to the Imperial University on Coruscant as a scholar in military history, but Keirdagh turned from this path, in favour of a career in the Imperial Fleet.

Early Naval Career

Having secured a position within the Imperial Fleet Academy, Keirdagh immediately found that he had an aptitude for flying, as well as overall battlefield tactics. Despite his continuing successes in the Fighter training simulators, the skill that Keirdaghs instructors found most valuable was his ability to understand and create small ship tactics. His successes in these grounds soon saw him being tested against the Academy's finest minds in War Games, and Keirdagh continued to excel. Despite having graduated in the top ten of his class in pilot training, Keirdagh was assigned to Fleet Command, rather than the TIE Fighter Corps. After having served aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer Tyrant as a Command Attache to the Wing Commander for a short period, Keirdagh's mother and father were killed in a landspeeder accident, leaving Keirdagh their entire estate.

Late Naval Career

At this point, Keirdagh sought, and recieved a transfer back to the Corellian System, in order to be closer to home in his time of mourning. Having lost the desire for open warfare, and a need for more stability in his life, Keirdagh recieved a berth on the Victory Class Star Destroyer Cantor's Hope, a ship that was tasked with defending the Corellian shipyards from predation. The ship's Commander, Yacko S. Cantor quickly befriended his new Wing Commander, and helped him escape the lethargy of his loss, and convinced him not to abandon his career. When the Civil War began, Keirdagh saw only limited actions against rebel incursions to the Corellian Sector, all of which were promptly beat back. His career during that period is one of stability, even though it may not be accounted as fascinating. However, when the Emperor was killed at the Battle of Endor, and Keirdagh's Captain Yacko was driven out of the Corellian System by the Diktat, Keirdagh chose to follow him to the Emperor's Hammer.

Early Brotherhood Career

Upon arrival in Emperor's Hammer territory, Keirdagh found he was not to be serving under Yacko S. Cantor anymore, and was instead transferred to the Dark Brotherhood Fleet Command, where he was assigned to serve as an adjunct to the Wing Commanders aboard the Super Star Destroyer Avenger. It was while serving in this capacity, that Keirdagh was approached by the elders of Clan Taldryan, having sensed his ability to use the force, and his training began. Despite maintaining their friendship, Keirdagh and Yacko did not again meet, until Yacko requested his appointment upon the Modified Interdictor Orthanc during the Third Great Jedi War. During the gruelling campaign that was to follow, Keirdagh's skills in both the force, and his fighting senses were honed under the constant tutellage of Yacko. It was during the final battle, that Keirdagh's life was to forever change. Despite being ambushed by a superior force, the Taldryan ships though extremely battered and damaged had managed to all but eliminate their enemies. However, a final action by a vengeful enemy sent a withering barrage at the Orthanc prompting Yacko to issue orders to abandon the ship. Refusing to do so himself, Yacko instead took the steps required to ensure that the Orthanc would be salvageable. Then, in a last desperate effort, when the Bridge of the Orthanc was hit, Keirdagh felt his mind being forcefully and irresistably invaded by his friend Yacko. In his dying moments, Yacko S. Cantor imparted all of his memories and knowledge to the fledgling Jedi, ensuring that at least his mind would survive.

Later Brotherhood Career

After the merging, Keirdagh was adopted by the Cantor Family[[1]] and changed his name to Keirdagh Cantor, further severing his connection to the painful memory of his parents death. He also redoubled his devotion to Clan Taldryan, rising through the ranks of House Archanis, and becoming known as one of the most influential and innovative leaders that the Clan has ever had. Eventually Keirdagh was promoted to the position of Proconsul, serving under Consul Jac Cotelin, and helping lead Taldryan's forces to victories in the fourth Great Jedi War. Later, having been recruited by Grand Master Firefox to serve as Sith High Warrior, Keirdagh's influence helped revitalize and redefine the Sith Order, establishing an identity beyond the stereotypical Sith Pilot by implementing Shadow Academy courses that allowed Sith disciples to learn the heritage and power of their birth right. However the trauma of having memories forcefully imprinted upon him left their mark, and Keirdagh was forced to retire from the Brotherhood, after having an indentity crisis all his own, which lead to a mental breakdown. After a period of isolation, and meditation, strong disturbances in the Force prompted Keirdagh to seek out his former home of Taldryan, and returned in time to find the entire Brotherhood in an uproar. The Brotherhood, in the midst of the the Exodus, Keirdagh was approached by his former Consul Jac Cotelin, and Grand Master Firefox with the offer of forming a Brotherhood Judiciary, in order to hinder the sort of corruption that made the Exodus necessary. Accepting this offer, Keirdagh became the first Justicar of the new, free Dark Brotherhood. After serving in this position for multiple years, Keirdagh once again felt the strain of Command becoming too much than he could bear, and chose to retire back to his home in Taldryan. In Taldryan, Keirdagh remains, always willing to answer the call to arms of his brethren, and staying forever a loyal Son of Taldryan.
