Jaecyn is a Jedi Hunter from house House Exar Kun of Clan Plagueis. He is a very passionate Sith, bent on the revenge of his parents and the supposed death of his youth sweetheart Tira to the Vong invasion. His anger is near unparalleled when it comes to fighting the Vong.

Character History

The Remnant Past...

File:Dantooineplains.jpg

Jaecyn remembered the gentle warmth of the sun rolling over the fields of grass. He had been working on his father’s Land Speeder with him late into the afternoon, until his mother called him into their small hut of a home. Jaecyn thought nothing of it and continued his twiddling with the speeders flux capacitor whenever his father came running out gesturing for him to come inside.

Jaecyn put down his tools, thinking that it was nothing that important…until he heard an explosion far off in the distance, followed by more and more. Jaecyn’s eyes went from his father to his best friend Tira, several hundred feet away cresting the hilltop.

He specifically remembered not worrying about himself or his parents, but whether his friend from birth would be okay. He got up and began running as fast as he could towards her hut several hundred feet away, though he stopped suddenly when it exploded outright, sending debris and such scattering across the once tranquil plains.

In that moment Jaecyn remembered feeling the darkest of feelings coming over him. He felt as though a star had gone supernova and the shock wave ridden his veins all the way though. With an outburst of a scream, a wave emitted from his body flattening nearby tall grass.

He didn’t remember much after that only that he had passed out. He remembered the dream that followed though. He remembered seeing Tira’s beautiful face. He remembered planning on walking towards her home that night, flowers in hand. He was going to take her out for her 17th birthday and ask her for the honor to be her boyfriend. The dream began to get darker; she began to drift away from him and was suddenly engulfed in fire, screaming for him to help. He tried but he couldn’t and suddenly he awoke with a start.

He remembered waking up to being dragged away from the ensuing explosions that shattered the tranquility that was Jaecyn’s world. His parents had been dragging him away from Tira’s, towards the docking bay not far off.

Jaecyn remembered trying to fight them, trying to get to Tira’s hut to see if she was alright but he was far too worn out to attempt it. He also recalled seeing Jedi running in the opposite direction that they were going, their blue and green lightsabers flashing light across the landscape.

Jaecyn was finally let go of in the hangar as his parents moved towards their personal yacht, a J-Type Star Skiff. They gestured for Jaecyn to get inside, but were cut short when the battle spilled over into the hangar. The Vong Warriors, disgustingly grotesque, rushed in their amphistaffs coming alive and slicing his father multiple times, before he fell over in a bloody heap.

He would move towards his mom before she suffered the same fate. His anger began to build once more but a nearby explosion rocked them off their balance long enough for Jaecyn to move into the vessel and ignite the engines. The ship began to rock as he pushed the throttle forward. It lurched forward as it took off and rocketed upwards, He could barely see, tears streaming down his eyes. He saw flashes of brilliant red and green flashing across the sky and the hull of the ship before it rocked forward with a mighty burst and his head hid the control panel, everything went dark.

The Academy of Shadows and Delusions of Grandeur

He was a bit nervous at first, knowing that what he was getting into was a life commitment towards the malevolence that was associated with being a Dark Jedi…a Sith. He couldn’t forgive the Vong for what they had done. Nor did he make any attempt at it. He wanted revenge; he wanted to kill them all.

The Arcanum, the mobile Shadow Academy

He remembered waking up aboard the Arcanum in a relative state of shock. He had been badly injured in his escape from Dantooine, but somehow he seemed relatively in good health, a nice sized scar cresting his chest from where shrapnel was lodged.

The first several days were a bit of a blur, he remembered doing extreme measures of training in heat and freeze controlled climate rooms. He had taken a class that had expanded on his knowledge of Broken Gate and furthered his skill in Hapan, eventually evolving into the ancient skill of what is known as Jakelian.

He also began studying Astronomy, the war strategy of Capital Starships, the variants of Starfighters, and even the economics of Transports and Freighters, earning a Dark Maven in the area of Flight.

The knowledge he was taking in made things seem to drip together, days became weeks and weeks, months. Suddenly he was standing before his new master…ready to begin his journey to becoming a Dark Jedi Knight.

The Ninth Great Jedi War: Unification

"They had forced me off my home planet, killed my parents, killed Tira...I could never forgive them for what they had done. But now...they've taken my real home. They've slain countless of my family, my dark brothers. I shall not let them slip away again! They shall not receive mercy or even the courtesy of a quick death. They will die painfully, screaming...drowning in their own blood next to their friends...then they will receive a similar ending..."
―Jaecyn Kai Interm

The Reclamation of Antei

Jaecyn remembered looking out the window of the Atrum Pars II, Antei far below them. The hatred burning from the countless lives the Vong had taken stirred up memories he’d rather not remember. He closed his eyes and focused his mind, calming himself. It would seem as if everything would slow down and become clearer to him.

He moved away from the window, down the long metallic hallway that ran through the ship like a highway. He walked past several elevators before finding the one he was looking for. This elevator required a specific code to be accessed, one which he knew. He punched it in, the doors shot open and he stood inside. After a moment the doors hissed shut and it moved upwards. It continued for about a minute before stopping near the top of the bridge. The doors would shoot open and he would step out into a briefing room, a briefing room for Exar’s Shadow.

Jaecyn recognized some of the younger members, such as the short form of the Flight Leaders Guardian Octavia Kuga standing at the front, leaning over the holo-panel and looking at the map of the main Antei installation. Next to her would be the Dark Jedi Knight Koga Kage. He was easily recognizable by the blonde streaks that veined through his brown hair and one of the only Dark Jedi to wear glasses. He stood with his hands on his waist, his Exar’s Shadow battle armor just underneath his robe.

In the far corner of the room would be the strange looking Krath Priest, Ood Bnar. His thick root like hair hung down his shoulders and over his cloak. His arms were crossed as he listened. Across the holo-table, stood Dark Jedi Knight and Lieutenant of the Plagueis Fleet, Kara Rohana. He had recognized her as seeing her in the hangar several days ago. She was listening intently to what was being said. Thus the last 4 were sitting in the respective seats surrounding the table, Jedi Hunter Brema Sedul Nekaka, Guardian Mehrunes Dagon, Arch Priest Cipher K’oranian Isradia, and Dark Jedi Knight Yadar Shyk.

It was then that Jaecyn realized he was the youngest and the weakest of everyone in the room. He quickly and quietly slipped in, moving next to Kara and crossing his arms. On the holo panel was a recording of their Consul, Braecen Kaeth. He was moving around the panel showing the movements of the other clans, until finally he began with their assignment. “Alright, this is where Exar’s Shadow comes in. You will descend in ‘Swooping Clawbird’, our Sentinel-Class landing craft…” At those words, Jaecyn’s mind immediately jumped to the structure of the

ship. ‘38 Meters long, Class 1.0 Hyperdrive rating. 2 Forward and 2 aft shield generators, onboard navi-computer, 8 retractable laser cannons, 2 concussion missile launchers, 4 missiles in each if it’s the standard load. 1 retractable Ion Cannon turret and 2 retractable repeating blaster cannon turrets’

He shrugged, the ship would be sufficient enough to get them on the surface in one piece. Though he would much like to get his hands on one of the Rebel B-Wings and modify it to his own liking. He felt a nudge against his shoulder and the eyes of Kara upon him. She knew he was zoning out. He focused more on what Braecen was on what he was saying. “Once on the ground, you will break up into pairs of 2 and scout the Hall of the Immortal, there will be a larger force behind you, which will be most of your other brethren, assisted by various elements of the Iron throne. Remember this is reconnaissance; do not engage the enemy unless it is absolutely necessary. Braecen Out.”

With that the transmission ended and the group stared at each other. Finally Kara spoke up, “Seems easy enough…” she said with a slight malevolent sneer on her face.

Chasing a Ghost

Jaecyn narrowed his eyes on the central person before seeing that it was indeed Dhalia that stood in the middle, her lightsaber now a shade of blue. Her robes were also lighter having replaced her dark brotherhood ones. He could almost feel the anger exploding outwards from him. He growled and was about to move down towards them when he received a blow to the back of his head and he lost consciousness.

He awoke several hours later, his vision a bit blurry. He was relatively high off the ground, noticing several people surrounding him…Jedi Knights. He shook his head, trying to regain his sense of sight.

“Welcome back Sith.” A female voice coerced him into looking upwards.

“Ex….how could you?” Jaecyn asked menacingly as his eyes narrowed on her, after realizing who it was.

“When you are faced with turning or dying yo..” She began to speak but was cut off by the Guardian.

“Would choose death every time. I would never betray the Clan, the Brotherhood and more importantly…” Jaecyn would lean forward as to get the full effect of what he was saying across to her, “I wouldn’t betray myself.” He leaned back and closed his eyes. “Might as well kill me now, Jedi…I won’t turn.”

“So be it…” Dhalia said her blue lightsaber igniting only to have it ripped from her hands by an immense explosion to the right of Jaecyn. Far enough off to not cause damage but close enough to blow everyone not holding onto something onto the ground.

Jaecyn shook his head from the disorientation of the blast and looked up, seeing several LAAT’s inbound, smoke streams from where the missiles had left the wings and impacted the ground.

His heart leapt as he strained his arms against the mandalorian iron restraints holding him onto the post he was tied too.

The ships landed and several Dark Jedi jumped off, their lightsabers ignited. He could sense his master among them. He felt the restraints release and he fell to the ground. He saw Dhalia’s lightsaber close to him on the ground, she was still struggling to recuperate from the blast.

He focused on the hilt, it flying to his hand. The blade ignited just a Jedi brought his lightsaber down on him, the bright hue of the two blue lightsabers cracking together so close to Jaecyn’s face almost blinded him. He brought his foot upward into his stomach and pushed, throwing the jedi overtop of him and into the pole that had held him only moments ago.

aecyn got to his feet and brought his lightsaber towards the Jedi, him not being fast enough on the rebound. The blade cut through his wrist fairly quickly, his lightsaber hand falling to the ground with it in tow. Jaecyn let his hand focus on the Jedi’s lightsaber pulling it up with the force and igniting it, crossing blades so that his head was between them then cutting his head off simultaneously. He turned one of them off and clipped it to his belt as he moved towards Dhalia, as did the others as the last of the Jedi scattered or were killed.

“P..please don’t. ..I had no choice…” Her trembling voice was weak…frail. It made Jaecyn sick.

“Don’t’ beg for mercy…you won’t receive it.” Jaecyn said as two protectors moved towards her and grabbed her arms. She screamed for mercy, but no one listened.

Jaecyn looked toward his master, standing shortly before him. He gave Jaecyn a nod before looking back to the traitor. “It needs to be done.” Were his only words.

Jaecyn twirled the blade once before swiping at her neck quickly, decapitating her in a single quick blow. The protectors needed to duck so as they didn’t join her.

He watched her body as well as her head fall to the ground as he disengaged her lightsaber. He looked at his master who nodded to him once more before he proceeded towards the LAAT, his master informing him of an upcoming mission involving taking out a droid control center.

"I remember now, I remember the last thing my parents said to me. For my dad it was something like, Make sure that flux capacitor is tightened correctly. For my mother it was somewhere along the lines of Tira was looking for you, have you gone to see her today?. The comments so small and trivial to the normal person, not until you lose them do you realize that nothing is trivial."
―Jaecyn, 29ABY

Notes: Protector

"It feels as though something is running through my veins...like...like a fire. Though its small and untapped. Like the precursor to a backdraft. All I need is for something to open that door"
―Jaecyn, 30ABY

Notes: Guardian

" The ability to use the force is becoming a second nature to me, I use it without even thinking sometimes, to open doors and get condiments for my meals. Its good practice. Sometimes I find myself practicing the use of the force to take my mind off of things, I can almost not even see her face anymore...This War is starting to take its toll on me...and just about everyone else."
