| The only guaranteed method for becoming an EP is to write a new course for the Shadow Academy. When a person writes a new course, they are given the option of being the first EP. An alternative is merely for the [[Headmaster]] to ask someone privately to take over the exam, though this option is rarely exercised, and usually only under special circumstances. The only other way to become an EP is to apply for an ''open'' position. This is the most common method, and the Headmaster, or his praetor, will post a notice on the main page about an open job. The following requirements are considered the ''minimum'', and are standard for all EP positions.
