Darius Blackwind was trained specifically for commanding Autochthonian warships during his tenure with his homeworld's naval academy. Having risen through the ranks, he was eventually assigned to the personal entourage of the High Lord Darrow, who granted him his Letters of Mark.
When Darrow's Jedi left Autoch space, Blackwind was given the option to remain with the ship given to the Jedi, staying on as part of his retinue. Blackwind, having grown attached to the prototype, agreed.
