RL Replicas of Muz's sabers
Born and raised in the South Side of Chicago, Muz was born into a Scots-Irish family with a father that insisted that his sons learned martial arts from a relatively young age. Muz and his family moved from the city to rural southwest Michigan after a gang-related incident when he was 16 years old. Adapting from city life to country life was neither easy or interesting, and Muz ended up moving to the nearest city of note after graduating high school.
Moving to Kalamazoo, MI and attending Western Michigan University as well as marrying young, Muz ended up leaving college in his third year due to a combination of factors. Leading reasons included the fact that he was self-funding his education and the discovery that he would not make more money in his chosen field with a degree than he was already making.
Muz discovered the Dark Brotherhood while searching out custom lightsaber instructions for a fan film his friends were planning but never actually went into production. Finding Kaine Mandaala's custom saber guide, Muz joined the club, where he found himself drawn into discussions about Iaido with another practitioner playing a character named Nekura Manji Keibatsu. As time went by, the Keibatsu family was formed out of similarly minded friends.
Eventually, Muz and his wife divorced, and Muz met Ashia through a writer's group, who he had an immediate connection with. Muz and Ashia married in Hell, Michigan on Halloween of 2008. Eventually, they moved to South Bend to pursue better career opportunities and to move closer to Ashia's family, having bought a house there in 2010.

- Is RL friends with all of the Keibatsu, and lives with Ashia, who is his wife IRL and IC.
- Had his own self-designed robes and sabers made for Dragon*Con.
