Clan Arcona is one of six remaining Dark Jedi Clans within the Brotherhood of Dark Jedi. It currently has two constituent Houses: Oriens Obscurum and Galeres.

History

The history of Arcona can best be heard through The Hymn of Arcona as written by Vassan Rokir

From time in memorium, a battle we wage
Between Clans of Swordsmen, Pilot and Sage.
In knowledge and blood our successes gaged.
And victory upon victory, like a fine wine we age.

First there was Nighthawk, our founder on high
He whose vision of glory none could deny:
"A legacy of power!" to the stars he did cry
And born was Arcona, here her history I scry.

Thus, like a child, a noble House were we;
Noble in mind, noble in arm, noble in philosophy.
Whence then came a tumult, within CSP,
Our House doors were opened, host of sanctuary.

Dark Jedi of Palatinae, disillusioned by conflicts internal
Parted thus, but found life as "rogue" to edge on the infernal.
Wise Quaestor Nighthawk, plotting a legacy eternal
Made bastion of our lands, and unto the rogues were we paternal.

New allies made we, of the Palatinae Jedi;
So strong was their bond that they did decide:
"Our allegiance to Scholae be damned and defied;
True brothers have we in Arcona; our faith be undenied!"

And with speed our Father House, noble and strong,
Grew in size and power, making richer a rich history already long.
And soon, with volume and zeal was struck the gong:
"A House we stand, but united a Clan!" came the glorious song.

But among the loyal revelers, a rotting faction brewed:
Rogue Jedi of Scholae Palatinae, in jealousy they stewed.
Presently, a defection back to their origins ensued,
And Clan Scholae Palatinae was to be hollowly renewed.

With tails between legs, the Scholae Jedi fled,
But not all escaped without first being struck dead.
Six conflicts I speak now, sure to be read;
Noble Arcona robbed six Palatinae of their treacherous heads:

Obelisk Blazer and Obelisk Morth cornered a pair.
With a leap and a slash, Morth's saber did flare
And cleft one in twain, as then did Blazer dare
To slice the other's belly, a cut no thicker than a hair.

To their ships ran another two, eager to escape their fate.
Into orbit they flew, but followed by Sith hunger, needing sate.
Shotgun and Shark, in their TIEs with the enemy did their sights mate
And with flicks of trigger, explosive retribution did they create.

And of the last two I speak, were felled by the powers of Krath.
Sensing two that remained, Nighthawk and Voranyen released their wrath.
Using the Force, the kind that comes from the Dark path,
They did crush two throats, leaving six bodies, as says the math.

And so the battle was done, many traitors had paid
Their lives for their "freedom" was their futile trade.
And through conflict's heat the stronger were we made
That the dark flame of Arcona would never fade.

So here the tale of Arcona we begin;
Clan forged in darkness, fire, and the wages of sin.

The Wages of War

Vassan Rokir

The end of the Fifth Great Jedi War found Clan Arcona in a time of crisis. The attack upon its interests at the outset of the war, coupled with the civil war caused by the dread Infection, had brought the mighty Clan to a weakened state it had not seen in recent memory.

Having been made Consul in the midst of the great conflict, Vassan Rokir was now responsible for Arcona’s rebuilding, and future ascension to its former glory. But the costs of the war had been high: ships destroyed, soldiers killed, the member Dark Jedi wounded both physically and spiritually. Expansion was needed, and a refilling of the Clan coffers. But they were in no state to wage another war so soon after the last.

Consul Rokir thus turned his sights not towards what Arcona might attain, but rather what it already possessed. The Da’jorra System was rich with dead moons, and lazy asteroids. If the mineral wealth held within these rocks could be exploited, without an undue military cost, great wealth could be gained with little risk.

The plan was not without obstacles: whatever else they might be, the members of Clan Arcona were not miners. As well, a Clan of Dark Jedi offering their goods on the open market was likely to receive a cold reception at best, and an investigation by the New Republic at worst. Arcona would need a middle man; a public face to shield its dark dealings. Consul Rokir researched mining companies, and made a list.

Sanyoso-Malay Corporation. GeoLodge Combine. Altarax Inc. These three organizations were singled out as efficient, and potentially malleable, allies in the mining effort. But getting any one of these legitimate entities to the bargaining table of Clan Arcona would be challenge enough. Subterfuge was required, and thus Consul Rokir called upon both the veteran and the young to bring about this diplomatic conquest.

Vassan sent the Dark Adept Halcyon Rokir Arconae, and the newly joined Protector Ma’ar Tyrius Ga-tir, to infiltrate the Atarax Inc. offices: a massive skyhook tethered to the planet Corellia. It was his hope that they would be able to convince the company’s President, Guitan Altarax, to do some negotiating. The pair surpassed the Consul’s hopes.

Using their skills in the darkside, as well as the quick-thinking required of any blooded Arconan, the veteran Sith and junior Krath insinuated themselves through the maze of the corporate complex, directly to Guitan Atarax himself. And kidnapped him.

Smuggled quickly, and quietly, out of the system and back to the Arconan throneworld of Selen, the arrogant corporate giant was brought before Consul Vassan Rokir. Altarax was shown, by a dark adapted eye, that his cooperation was inevitable. And non-negotiable.

With the pact between Clan Arcona and Altarax Inc. sealed, it then fell to the three Houses of Arcona to oversee the various aspects in establishing a profitable relationship between the chiseled corporate front and the shadowy partner it had just gained. Consul Rokir established three priorities: Security, Resource Assessment, and Mapping. In his researches of the first, an anomaly was discovered; one that might unravel the deal before it began. He called upon House Oriens Obscurum.

While meditating on the road ahead, Consul Rokir felt a ripple in the Force: a shade of the future to come.

Infiltration

Unbeknownst to Clan Arcona, a powerful Jedi that had once almost fallen to the dark side had been sent on a fact-finding mission to the Da’jorra system in an effort to redeem himself with the new Jedi Order. Though Vassan was not able to discern the true nature of the foe they faced, whomever it was had to be dealt with. HOO was tasked with finding out if there was a spy somewhere.

From the Eldest to the most new, the members of Oriens Obscurum worked to flush the spy out. On Boral, deep in meditation, Cymbre Solana Aquillarum Kall detected the enemy: he had disguised himself as one of the mining crew, and was headed towards Selen. The spy's cover was blown, but not before he managed to send out a report to the New Republic on what he had discovered. But, knowing he was found out, and surrounded by powerful enemies, the Jedi decided that only one course of action remained in order for him to complete his mission, and redeem himself to the Light.

Assasination

The Jedi decided to assassinate Vassan Rokir.

Avoiding immediate capture, and stealing himself away on a cargo ship, the Jedi made his way into the Clan headquarters, just in time for the Consul’s regular public address on the state of the Clan. The Jedi made his move, but was challenged by Syn Kaek, Janiels "Shotgun" Morganick, and Halcyon Rokir Arconae. Despite their vast power in the dark side, the Jedi, himself a Master of the Force, held his own. As well, the conflict boiled up the darkside within the Jedi Master, further empowering him against the Arconans.

With lightsabers blazing, and the Jedi gaining the edge, the Dark Adept Halcyon Rokir Arconae, Quaestor of Oriens Obscurum, drew from the powers of the Abyss itself, and attacked the Lightsider-gone-bad with Abyssal Lightning. Psychically washed with all the pain, nightmares, and suffering the Jedi had either felt or caused in his life, he fell dead. The battle was won. The auditorium was destroyed. And no one knew what information the Jedi may have passed to the New Republic before his death.
