Description

On the surface, the Blind Key appears to be a standard access key, geometrically flat and squared with translucent casing and a multi-tool like toggle for all manners of access ports and security locks, from code cylinders slots to contactless pads. While impressive as a tool, what stands out most about the key, however, is the metallic, eye-less skull that adorns one side of the access card, the symbol of the "Blind Eye" that represents the true power behind Port Ol'val's.

Created by the original founders of Mal Company, the functionality of the key has since been updated in time with the new renovations that House Qel-Droma funded in the rebuilding process of Port Ol'val. This empowers the key to have the ability to bypass or cut through any security system on the Shadow Port. It also provides access to exclusive safe-rooms and storage cache's hidden throughout the hollowed out asteroid.

While being a nifty tool for empowering members of House Qel-Droma to get around Port Ol'val without fuss, it also helps strengthen the hold that the Shadow Clan House holds over existing and potentially new criminal organizations that might arise.

The key is awarded on a rotating basis to members of House Qel-Droma that distinguish themselves through actions and service to the House. It is biometrically attuned to each recipient with a thumb pin-prick that works with a bit of clever Sith Alchemy to ensure only the owner of the key can utilize its abilities.

Awarded for

The Blind Key is awarded to the most prolific member of House Qel-Droma for a calendar quarter at a time. Placement in Crescent-awarding competitions accrues points which are tallied in the House's monthly reports and the top placing member receives the Blind Key for their (mis/ab)use for the quarter.

Trivia of Dubious Truthfulness

Some say, the Blind Key is so-named because the Miraluka Eleceos keeps winning it each quarter.
