Character History
Ginnafae Delacor was born on Coruscant to a wealthy mercantile trader and his reclusive wife during the height of the rebellion against the Empire. Her father, Farros Delacor, was prosperous under the current regime and provided a very extravagant lifestyle for his wife and daughter. His wife Lucinda was a social recluse, usually taken ill or cloistered in her chambers during charity functions and gala events. When asked, Farros usually made an off-hand excuse for his wife's absence and as the rich and affluent usually do, change the subject to something unrelated. When Ginnafae was born, she always accompanied Farros to public events, always accompanied by the story of, "Oh my poor dear, too ill to care for the child tonight, so I took her with me to give her a rest."
The truth of Lucinda was far darker than most would have ever guessed. Lucinda was once a Nightsister; a dark force wielder from the forest planet of Dathomir. She had met Farros during a scouting trip to that quarantined world while he was searching for a new type of timber to offer the market. He had received permission from the regional governor to survey a specific area, under Imperial escort, for potential harvesting and cultivation. While he was investigating a tree that scanners deemed fit for transplant, he fell under the spell of Lucinda... literally. While initially she was simply looking for a way off-world, she found that the male she had so easily ensnared offered her wealth and influence she had never dreamed of before. While at first she despised this male as all natives of Dathomir do, over time she grew to tolerate him, then eventually love him. After a couple of years, she found she no longer needed to weave her spells of compliance and was shocked to find she did not want to control him anymore, but rather simply be with him.
Lucinda's tribal markings, plus her affinity for the force caused her to be secretive and secluded. She willingly hid herself from prying eyes, fully aware that if even one of these aristocrats recognized her as a Nightsister she would be reported to the Empire, with dire consequences to herself and her husband.
Lucinda's pregnancy was a complete surprise. Sensing another presence of the force within her, Lucinda both cherished and feared the impending birth of her daughter. Nightmares of her child being born with pale skin and purple tribal markings; thin hair tied in blood red braids caused Lucinda to awaken screaming in fear. When Ginnafae was born with healthy pink skin and wispy blonde hair, her mother nearly collapsed with relief.
Early Life
As Ginnafae matured into a young adolescent her mother was always there, making sure that she was raised proper to her station. Ginnafae knew her mother was sickly, she knew this because of the heavy make-up her mother wore to try to hide her unhealthy pallor, but she was always there with advice on how she should act, what she should say, and when she should say it. While she loved her mother immensely, she never knew the true meaning why Lucinda was always training her daughter on how to handle intense emotional situations and how to act in the presence of others. Lucinda knew that her daughter had inherited her strong connection to the Force and the fear of her only daughter being taken into Imperial custody and re-educated as a force wielder in thrall to the Emperor caused many sleepless nights.
Most of her teen years were undramatic. She had her flings with various socialites, nothing ever serious, and Ginnafae enjoyed the wealth her father provided. As she grew older, she noticed that Farros became more preoccupied and distant. He began to develop a haunted look about him and became short tempered and jumpy. While her mother was growing worried, Ginnafae took note, but did not concern herself with it. Ginnafae's world revolved around herself and her parents... they were adults and their problems did not relate to her.
Little did either Ginnafae or her mother know, but with the collapse of the Empire, many of the lucrative mercantile contracts her father held were usurped by agents of various criminal organizations. When Ginnafae was 14, her father was 'offered' a partnership with Vigo Spraxx to join use his shipping organization exclusively to transport his materials through the Tingel Arm. It was an offer that only allowed for one answer. As Spraxx gained more power and influence, with Black Sun behind him, Farros knew his time was limited. The loans he had taken out to help his company stay afloat through the rough times following the fall of the Empire were now in the hands of Spraxx, who had secretly bought the contracts from the bank.
Fall of the House of Delacor
When Ginnafae turned sixteen, her life was at its apex. She had all she could ever want or need. Three weeks after her birthday, her entire world would implode like a black hole. She was in her room, reading some trashy romance novella when she heard a loud bang and heavy shouting. The one thing that caused her more alarm than anything was the sound of her mother's raised voice in the company of others. Her mother never came out of her chambers when anyone outside of family was present. Ginnafae ran to her door and stood on the balcony, overlooking the scene below in the main foyer. Farros was on his knees in front of a canine-looking alien, a shiny black pistol to his head. Three other aliens, all armed, stood round the furred alien, their weapons pointed at Lucinda. Even with the bizarre scene unfolding, Ginnafae's eyes never left her mother. Her normally white hair gone, replaced by crimson braids spilling down her corpse gray back. Her face, one Ginnafae knew always caked with heavy makeup, was the same gray with bright purple ovals covering her eyes. The same shade of purple coated her lips with thick lines extending from the corners of her mouth past the center of her cheeks. Lucinda looked like something out of a nightmare.
In that instant of shock, Lucinda looked up and saw her daughter standing there over the balcony. Ginnafae could almost feel anguish burst forth from her mother. Lucinda's eyes weren't the only ones to be drawn to the balcony. Spraxx also noticed the attractive young female standing there and his ever calculating mind instantly appraised how much she would be worth on the slave market.
Commanding his minions to bring her down, Ginnafae was grabbed by the henchmen and brought before the feral looking alien. As his clawed hand caressed her cheek, she heard Spraxx tell her father that he would let him live if he gave over his daughter. Ginnafae's reality shattered when she heard Farros say "Yes".
As she was lifted from her feet by a foul smelling Gammorean, she heard her mother shriek in fury. Ginnafae could feel the heat of her mother's anger on her skin, felt it wash over her like a wave of warm water. As her captor ran out the door, Ginnafae heard the sounds of blaster fire and what sounded like lightning. Her bouncing vision caught flashes of bright blue light coming from inside the room. Spraxx leapt through the door, smoke trailing from his singed fur. As quickly as it started the pulses of blue light stopped; only the sound of blaster fire remained. It would be five more years before she learned the fate of her mother.
Captivity & Death
Ginnafae's term of captivity was only three weeks, but for a girl who was used to a life of extravagance and privilege; it seemed an eternity. The abuses she suffered at the hands of Spraxx were few as he had little use (or attraction to) for the hairless human female form. Spraxx's human henchmen however were under no such boundaries. The physical abuses were pale compared to the psychological damage being wrought upon the young girl. Her entire existence was just one endless stream of torment punctuated by short periods of sleep.
Approximately three standard weeks after her abduction, her new master decided to uproot from Coruscant for a short time and retreat to his private estate on some far flung world in the Outer Rim. Ginnafae never heard what planet she was being moved to, and frankly she was in no position to ask. She remembers being released from her 'quarters' (which was little more than a 3 meter square with a single door and no windows) and loaded with the rest of Spraxx's personal belongings in the cargo hold of his private yacht. She was strapped into secure crash webbing like an ordinary statue and left unguarded. As the cargo door sealed shut and the bay plunged into perfect darkness, Ginnafae came alive as abject terror seized her. The cargo bay was pressurized, but not fitted with environmental controls or inertial compensators, so she was keenly aware of the ship departing the planet, both by the ebb of normal gravity as well as the rapid decrease in temperature.
Ginnafae, fully in the thrall of terror struggled to free herself from the crash webbing holding her to the bulkhead. As the twisted and thrashed, she managed to free her left arm and left leg. Flailing her arm about, she felt something coarse in the darkness. Recognizing it as a cargo blanket, she savagely tugged it free of whatever was holding it down and managed to cover her shivering form completely, both keeping her warm and protecting her from the icy darkness surrounding her. She huddled into the webbing, wrapping the blanket tight around her and as the terror abated slightly, she was not even aware of herself falling asleep.
Ginnafae was awoken by a tremendous booming sound as well as the bulkhead she was strapped to vibrating and shaking madly at her back. In the darkness she could hear the whine of the engines and the thuds and crashes of cargo boxes being thrown around the room. She tried to pull her blanket closer, but gravity had returned during her sleep ad she no longer had the protective cloth in her grasp. Before she could even reach about to try and grab anything with her left arm she was thrown hard into the crash netting as the ship bucked as if kicked by a giant. Something hard edged and heavy slammed into her left shoulder, tearing the flesh badly. She could not see the wound, but almost instantly she felt warm liquid running down her arm. She reactively screamed as the ship bucked again, this time coupled with the sound of something big exploding. In an instant the bay was flooded with a light which to her eyes seemed as bright as the sun. An explosion, closer this time, turned the bulkhead opposite of her into deadly shrapnel. As the metal shards flew into the room, Ginnafae felt something hot and sharp rake across the right side of her face. She also felt four separate pieces puncture into her restrained body. Her left hand, partially covering her face, blocked a sharp piece of hull plating that would have surely decapitated her. She felt an instant of pain as the razor edged plate sheared off her ring and pinky finger.
Suddenly, before she could even react to the maiming injury of her hand, she felt the ship turn ninety degrees and while she had never experienced this sensation first hand, she knew that the ship was in free fall. The sound of shifting crates and rushing air past the gaping hole in the hull deafened her to the fact that she could no longer hear the engines of the vessel. Little did she know that the ship had actually been blown in half, the engines having been struck by a direct hit of concussion missiles, shredding the back half of the vessel instantly. The whistle-whine of an object in free fall is unmistakable... as is the sound of impact. Ginnafae suddenly felt her entire body move forward powerfully as the ship struck the surface of the planet. As with most sudden endings, that split second felt like minutes to the young woman. She felt her left arm and leg, unrestrained by the crash webbing, thrust forward as if being pulled by wild rancors. She felt the muscles and tendons tighten, the skin stretching to its limits. She heard more than felt the pop as her leg and arm pulled free from their respective sockets. She felt the hot flash of pain as skin, muscle and sinew ripped and tore, her limbs flying forward and away from her. She felt the wreckage shift to the right as something heavy and large fell on top of her, then her entire world turned black.
