Established in the mountainous regions above Kiast's toxic clouds, a massive irrigated plot serves to cultivate and farm the "Locus Vera" plants. A recent and relatively isolated addition formed in the wake of the Brotherhood's first battle against the Children of Mortis. The plant life within its farms is entirely unique to the region and is a rare asset among Clan Odan-Urr's facilities.
Appearance and Effects
Having a largely ubiquitous appearance close to that of the more widespread legume, the farms can very easily be mistaken as a typical mass-produced commercial facility. Once removed from the rare rips of purified ascendant crystals that occasionally poke through the soil, it's difficult to distinguish between the two save for the unique blue fruit they produce.
The harvests produced from the farm serve to rapidly accelerate and bolster the healing process of both the body and mind. These can work as both a supplement to other treatments and even a sole treatment, but their most remarkable quality is how they serve as a mental reinforcement as much as a physical one. The exact nature of how this is possible is still being explored, but it has thus far proven to be highly effective.
History
The means to create the plants only came about in 40 ABY, largely thanks to the addition of purified ascendant crystals essential to the soil and growth methods. After research into means to best utilise the Children of Mortis' own technology against them, Clan Odan-Urr concentrated its efforts into healing and recovery technologies. Having faced annihilation twice thanks to the Brotherhood's own betrayals and forced to rebuild almost entirely, the healing properties were seen as far more of a boon than any direct weapons development. The breakthrough found was through a remarkably mundane application of the crystals. By carefully tending to soil enriched by purified implanted fragments, rows of legume would take on beneficial healing properties, capable of enhancing both the body and spirit. Along with easing an otherwise total reliance upon Bacta or even the far more ancient Kolto for medical treatments, its ability to heal both the mind and the body was seen as an excellent benefit thanks to the nature of their enemies.
