The Desired One
The Siji Sing Dipengini is a relic uncovered in 39 ABY. Known as the Desired One in Galactic Basic, its exact role and nature is still largely unknown. All we know for now is that it is an energy conduit capable of handling large amounts of energy. It was the central prize fought over during The Myrkr Crusade.
Appearance
The Desired One looks like a smooth stone from the outside and is roughly in the shape of a circle. It is not a perfect circle but rather there are natural-looking slants to it, akin to a stone one might find in nature.
History
Long ago there was a grand temple that housed an artifact of unknown power. Rumors said it could do wondrous things, even grant the gift of the Force. Jedi nor Sith could claim its creation but both sought its power. Whether for literal power, knowledge, or something else one desired, people of all walks of life have searched for it. It was housed and protected in a grand temple, rumored to date back to the Jed’aii, but one day it went missing. For what felt like an eternity, people fought over it, the victors claiming the temple itself and serving as its new protectors and users.
Over time, the original temple was almost indistinguishable, the additions of those who came after hiding much of the original architecture. One day long ago though, it was stolen not by an invading army but by unknown thieves in the night. Despite searches for the culprits, it was never seen again. Some claim the Jed’aii took back what was always theirs. Some say someone without the Force took it to prevent the inevitable war between the light and the dark. Others say it was purely for personal gain. Rumors abound but eventually, it became lost to time, a relic of bedtime stories.
Until one day, two new claimants found clues pinpointing its existence to the planet Myrkr. Archaeologists and explorers from Odan-Urr discovered mentions of it in the Cave of Light on Kiast, as well as mentions on Jedha from the Cradle of the Wanderer. Plagueis discovered its existence from their hated enemy, who is currently pursuing its power. Both have inevitably found themselves on Myrkr, searching for the fabled object of lore.
39 ABY (Current Events)
Odan-Urr and Plagueis would come into conflict over the relic, in an event that would become known as The Myrkr Crusade. With each seeking to take it for knowledge and power respectively, the two sides entered a pitched battle both on the planet's surface and in low orbit. This would end abruptly when the relic was found in the subterranean levels below a forgotten temple and snatched by an Odanite team before the Plagueians could fully intercept them. Although the relic's nature meant that it disrupted and interfered with the thoughts of those carrying it, they were nevertheless able to bring it back to their awaiting sides.
Following a massed Neti horde emerging on the planet, both sides opted to retreat than risk fighting a war on two fronts. While Odan-Urr was permitted to retain the Desired One, a number of Neti remained with them to guard it, along with a multitude of Ysalamir to help nullify its influences. Kept safe on board the Solari, the Odanites were given the time needed to begin examining it.
