"It is possible to fail in many ways...while to succeed is possible only in one way."
-Aristotle
Azasell Kirin is a member of House Galeres in Clan Arcona.
Character History
A Silent origin
Azasell Kirin was born on the planet of Nexus Ortai within Hertae Sector in 12 ABY to a family of doctors. His mother was his main caregiver during his brief stay on his homeworld as his father was always busy with his odd experiments that he committed down in the basement of their home. Several years before the Yuuzhan Vong invaded Nexus Orati, Azasell's father was killed in a freak accident down in the market. No one asked questions as not many people viewed the doctor as a "nice" person. Overcome with grief, the young boys mother soon fell to a fatal heart attack and left Azasell all alone, an orphan in a world where no one would take him due to his father's ill reputation.
Luckily, a student of Skywalker had been visiting the world on a supply run and noticed the boys potential. This led to him taking the orphaned boy to the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4.
The Praxeum
What is known about young Azasell is that around his fifth birthday, he was admitted into Luke Skywalker's Jedi Praxeum to train in the ways of the force. He spent three years on Yavin 4 training in the ways of the force. Secretly, he had been sneaking from his room every few nights to explore the forests surrounding the temple in which they called home. It was not until he was almost eight years old that he came across a rare and unique tome of dark lore within one of the ruins that could be found out in the forests. After retrieving this tome of knowledge, he was followed back to the Praxeum by a small creature, who later became his friend after the two had a small confrontation.
Earlier in the night before he had found the book of dark lore, his roommate had attempted to stop him from sneaking out. This led to him assaulting the young boy and leaving him injured upon the floor of their quarters.
Exile
After injuring the young student, Azasell was cast into exile from the Praxeum for his deeds. Skywalker wanted him far from his students and the his teachings.
During his exile, Azasell traveled around for a short while stowing aboard multiple starships until he finally reached Tantooine. Here on Tatooine, he was confronted by a smuggler named Olivia. She took him under her wing and began to teach him the arts of smuggling. He spent another 7 long years learning from her and finally upon his fifteenth birthday, was given a ship of his own.
Sadly, on his maiden voyage to Coruscant, he was assaulted by the Yuuzhan Vong who had just recently conquered the planet. His ship was heavily damaged during this scuffle and Azasell just barely escaped in time as to not lose his life.
Beginning of the Fall
Landing on a nearby fleet vessel, Azasell left his ship in a capable mechanics hands as he roamed the fleet. During this time he "bumped" into a man dressed in all black. This turned out to be a Dark Jedi Knight passing through the area in search of new hopefuls to bolster the ranks of the newly formed Shadow Academy. Falling for the man's dark and seductive words, the young smuggler joined him and returned to the Academy with this man. The man promised to have his ship transferred to the Academy while he took Azasell aboard his own private vessel.
The Escape
Time passed and with every passing day, Azasell grew stronger in the dark side of the force, but he felt that something was missing in his life and this led him to secreting himself aboard his old ship and escaping the Academy.
During his self imposed exile, Azasell traveled back to Tantooine and fell into his old habits of smuggling. Seven years would pass before he finally found it in himself to return to the Dark Brotherhood from which he had fled years before.
A Return to Darkness
Upon his return to the brotherhood, he noticed that much had changed and the views of the order had grown. He spent his time regaining the trust of his mentors. Long hours of pouring over tomes of lore and datapads filled with dark knowledge and still he felt as if a hole was building within him. Something was not quite right.
His previous master having vanished, left Azasell with many questions and even fewer answers. He began to go out at night to train his body as well as his mind. He first thought that this might help fill the hole that was within him, but this only led him to becoming exhausted.
One late evening after his daily regimen, Azasell was approached by a young man dressed in a turncoat that was just slightly too large for him. His name was Teroch and he was the leader of a group known as Soulfire. After a long discussion, Azasell finally revealed that he knew a little about blasters and this drew Teroch's interest.
After some time passed and the two men spoke for awhile, Teroch finally persuaded Azasell to join Soulfire. The leader of the unit told Azasell to meet up with the executive officer of Soulfire in the morning and gave him specific coordinates to follow.
The morning came and the young Journeyman followed the directions that Teroch had given him to the letter. It led him to a small room deep within the Shadow Academies walls. Inside he was met by a man dressed in all black and wearing a mask. The man beckoned for the journeyman to come closer but remained silent.
As soon as the journeyman came within range, the masked man quickly drew his red saber and brought it uncomfortably close to Azasell's neck. Before lowering the blade, all he said to the young man was, "An enemy would not hesitate."
Many more encounters like this happened over the next few weeks before Azasell got wise. As he approached the masked man for what felt like the one hundredth time, he readied himself. AS the masked mans saber came down, it was met by an armory saber the young man had borrowed three days before. He looked to the man and said, "My enemy had better be quicker then."
In some unspoken way, this made the masked man lower his saber and hold out his hand to Azasell. " Welcome to the brotherhood," he said firmly.
After that incident, the masked man took the Journeyman to meet several of his superiors. Many rites of initiation were conducted before Azasell was finally inducted into House Galeres of Clan Arcona.
To this day, Azasell tries his hardest to prove to his new master and his new family, his worth in battle as well as his knowledge of the dark side. Only time will tell what awaits this young man......
Profile
Personality and Mannerisms
Azasell was a shy child. He did not like to draw attention to himself in fear of harsh criticism, but as he grew and experienced more of life, he became more confident. Now Azasell is a strong minded young man with great ambitions. A very charismatic young man, he likes to use what others refer to as , "His silver tongue", to sweet talk his way out of dangerous situations. This silver tongue has also landed him in even more dangerous situations.
Azasell is also known to have a lust for power. If he learns of an ancient relic or artifact, he can't help himself but to search for it and obtain it's knowledge for his own purposes.
During his life, Azasell has tried to show other's a more enigmatic side to him. When asked a question, he usually remains silent unless it is from either his master or a superior in the organization that he currently works for.
Many people are weary around this young journeyman due to his silence, but when you can work past that and get into his inner circle, to the people he slightly trusts, you will notice he is a bright young man and that he has an interesting story to tell. He enjoys telling stories and when in the company of his close friend, Magni, he can be found telling him many stories or tales of adventures.
Although most will only ever see his darker side, Azasell also has a soft side too. If you were to discuss piloting with him at length, he would first be a little cautious, but after the conversation took shape, he would drop the enigmatic shield that guards his emotions and begin to ramble on about all kinds of ships.
Beware though, if you bring up questions about his time on Nexus Ortai, the veil of silence that normally surrounds him would come up once more and he would lose interest in you.
A Dark Secret
Although many may never see it, Azasell suffers from an acute form of dementia. Ever since he was a child, he has been having horrible visions that entail death and torture. At first people simply believed him to have made this up, but as time passed and he was examined by multiple doctors, they decided to give him medicine to help with his ailment. Now once a month, Azasell must inject himself in the neck with a neural stimulate in order to supress the disturbing images that would normally flood his mind. As of lately, Azasell has come to the conclusion that perhaps these visions that he is having are due to the force, and that perhaps it is not a curse but instead a gift.
Appearance
Although he may seem light of frame and frail, underneath his flowing dark robes is a well toned figure. He is constantly exercising both his mind and his body. His long white hair he has had since birth and people have said that it has a mystical property to it. His eyes burn bright like the core of a supernova and their amber brilliance shows no sign of dimming. His skin tone has a slightly ghostly quality to it as he is pale from hiding so much.
More often then not you will see him wearing a traditional scholarly robe although what is not seen is his DV-CES given to him by his battleteam. He wears this at almost all times in case called in for a mission by his superiors.
He also has a small metal mask that he carries in a pouch at his side. No one knows the real reason why he carries this mask. He never wears it, but it seems to hold great value to him. If asked about it, he will simply say that it is memorabilia from a time past.
Companion and Closest Ally
During his training on Yavin 4 under Skywalker, Azasell met this young Kushiban.
His full name is Sekk Ori Magni. This Kushiban grew up like any other Kushiban would until the day where his people found out that he had been born with a rare birth defect. Normally a Kushiban's fur will change depending on it's mood or feeling, often this is called mood fur, but sadly, young Magni (as he likes to be called) is unable to change the color of his fur. This Kushiban's fur is forever crimson and for as long as he lives it will never change color.
Magni's eyes were not however effected by this birth defect and he still mimics the eyes of whom ever he is speaking to.
When speaking, Magni has a slippery voice that makes you feel as if he were hiding something. Almost like a snake to some extent. Although his voice may be off-putting, Magni is normally sweet and kind to his close friend Azasell. He can be quite vicious if anyone was to harm or threaten his friend though.
(Magni's Wiki will be under Construction soon as well.)
The Metal Mask
This odd looking mask is something that Azasell always carries on his person in a small pouch. He can be found looking at it sometimes late at night with a glazed look in his eyes as if he were reliving memories from a time long ago.
If anyone was to ask about the mask he simply brushes them off or tells them it is a memorabilia from a long time ago. He does not like to explain it's dark past.
The mask once belonged to the young man's father. A sick and twisted man who performed odd experiments on people in the families basement. To Azasell knowledge, he cannot remember ever going down into this basement because the sights may well have been too terrifying for his mind to imagine.
When his father passed away, the only thing Azasell kept was the mask that his father use to wear before he would descend into the basement.

If he gets his hand on a ship, you may not get it back. Azasell loves ships and they are one of his few passions in life. When not reading or trying to gain power, you might often find him trying to commandeer a vessel and taking it for a joy ride. The more complex the ship, the more fun he has.

Weaponry
Azasell is trained in the use of Blasters and sniper Rifles. He has spent extensive time going over the mechanics of sniper rifles and even prefers to think of himself as a specialist in their field. He is also skilled in the use of vibro knives but he prefers to stay at a range when at all possible.

The Force
From an early age, Azasell has always had a close connection with the force. Although he never knew how to truly use it until his time on Yavin 4 with Skywalker, he was known as a trouble child because things would happen around him that could not normally be explained.
As he grew and his powers developed, Azasell showed a weird connection with the more mental sides of the force. Piloting was his main outlet. He had an uncanny understanding of direction and orientation. Also he was known for being able to understand the feelings of those around him.
