Lan Orsalan was born on Coruscant during 10 ABY. His parents abandoned him in the lower levels when he was 3, and he was forced to take matters into his own hands, fighting for survival.
Lan took to the streets, becoming a skilled street mechanic for mercenaries and merchants in the lower levels soon after turning 13. He lived in an old, abandoned warehouse, and received food and money from his clients for his work. One of these clients was Fenris Shaal, a Mandalorian mercenary that soon became his best friend. Fenris not only helped him get started in his buisness, but also trained him in self-defense and sharpshooting. When he turned 15, a Coruscant Police Force patrol was in the lower levels, trying to capture a thief that had fled there. Lan took advantage of the opportunity and snuck aboard the squad's transport, subconsciously using the Force to make him invisible.
The CSF soon returned, with the thief in custody, and traveled back up to the upper levels. When they arrived at CSF Headquarters, Lan was discovered and caught by one of the officers. By coincidence, Jedi Master Kodan Korest, a Jedi technician, was in the CSF Headquarters and heard the officer who had caught Lan over the comlink. Kodan arrived just in time to see Lan being handcuffed and put in a police speeder. Kodan requested Lan's release, and finding that he was very strong in the Force, took Lan to the Jedi Academy to be trained.
Long story short: I defected, I roamed the galaxy, and I found the DJB. The End.
